Yeah, I won't start wetting my pants until it's a confirmed feature. It's promising that it was a (Ostensibly) free roaming event, since it was in a video that was showcasing the free roaming bits of the game.

I'd be even more disappointed if it were purely random. Having things like that in the game without even bothering to implement a system that increases the chances of people recognizing you seems weak.

I'm hoping that the game will have have different difficulties. I'm a fan of playing on hard to discourage myself from treating challenges flippantly.

I laughed so hard at this.

If this game turned out to be a reskinned Assassin's Creed with a couple of hacking features, I'd be cool with it. Being too much like AC is the least of my worries for this game.

With all due respect, you can get better information from other websites or just Google itself. This isn't the official website of Ubisoft and some members like me have the tendency to say random things for shits and giggles without adding anything important to the discussion.

I'm tempted to figure out how to incorporate bananas, bluehorns, and hiding under blankets into Watch Dogs in order to make it relevant, just to be ironic.

Silliness is always appreciated. THIS IS BAY12! *jumps into a well* YEAAAA-ARGH!

I think we can use bananas to slow down the cops chasing us. We have barriers to use during car chases, we need something to use on foot. Bluehorn is the same thing with Bluetooth. Avoiding patent infringement was never this easy. Blankets are going to be used as hiding spots. Do you see that hobo trying to sleep on the street? Kill the fucker and steal his blanket! Or maybe you can hack the blanket to claim ownership. Everything seems hackable in this game.

I'm hoping that the game will have have different difficulties. I'm a fan of playing on hard to discourage myself from treating challenges flippantly.
I think I'm going to do that too. I want this game to be difficult. I want to be constantly alert. I want to feel anxious whenever I spot a police station nearby. I want to escape rather than killing everyone in slow-motion. I want to be a hidden badass, only resorting to executing epic badassery when I'm forced to. I want to think "Shit, look at that cop army. I need to haul ass fast!" rather than "Shit, look at that cop army. Did Christmas came early or something? MURDER TIME!"

"Bluehorns" is a nickname a friend of mine gave me.

E3 is in full swing, and you know what that means!

"Exposed" Trailer - A hint of story with no game play.

"Walkthrough" of an In-Game Mission - Looks pretty fun. Apparently civilians can recognize you and call 911, and you can walk up to them and toss their phone on the ground. It's a little odd that no one does anything about it, though. Seems like a good way for the dude to scream, "It's Aiden Pierce!" and have everyone on the street call 911. I'm happy to see stuff like that in there, though.

One thing I'm wary of is the 'tell the guy where to go' segment. If you fail, do you get an instant game over, or do you just have to go help him out? I like the idea, but hopefully the execution isn't too obtuse.

Also, we get our first cross-platform tie-in. The player requests help from a tablet player, who hops on and disables a helicopter for him, as well as popping up (Or just unlocking?) a couple of road barriers. While I find this idea interesting, especially considering that you're a character walking around hacking the world with your phone, I'm still not sure of it. I'm sure I can pull out my phone/tablet and just play by myself if I really wanted to, which kind of defeats the purpose. I'm naturally a little cautious going towards this, but I'll keep an open mind.

Blackouts look like they're your one-way ticket to escaping the everything. I'm guessing you'll run across better equipped enemies in the future, but hopefully it's not something you do willy-nilly just to escape the police when they catch you. There should be some sort of consequence beyond being able to beat the crap out of law enforcer in sight because they can't see you.

Edit: Forgot to mention there's a huge hint towards Aiden's motivations: The dude you save mentions finding something out about your sister. Maybe it's because my sister is my only sibling, but this makes me happy. It's about time more games realized that tragedies don't only happen to dudes' wives and girlfriends.

Hopefully we'll get more info from E3. Looks pretty cool so far.

Notice he only shot the cops in the knee? I wonder if it detects that, and more importantly, it has an influence on your notoriety; e.g. is killing a cop worse than shooting a cop in the knee which is worse than hitting one with your baton, which is worse than just running away?

I sure hope so. There's a big difference in a malevolent hacker shooting cops to-kill and a malevolent hacker giving cops superficial leg wounds and escaping. If you're blowing legs off I doubt they'd appreciate the sentiment either way, though.

It was a set up for a joke, but at the last minute they decided not to reveal the bow DLC.

I think it'd be cool if they had some sort of system that detects when you're violating traffic rules. Things like speeding and running red lights would make the police come after you. It always feels weird being able to blow past a police car in GTA (or whatever free-world game) at a red light and they'll just ignore you as long as you don't hit their car.

Getting shot through the leg isn't very superficial. People still bleed in the future.

The point that was being made was the distinguishing between "lethal" and "less than lethal."

I loved Driver and, to some extent, Mafia 2 for the traffic rules. That'd be a pretty sexy addition.
