Well, this does some what make me more confident that the game won't be overflowing with Hollywood BS.

That said, Kaspersky will only make recommendations but it sounds like Ubisoft wants to get away from wildly fictitious hacking.

Sounds like a waste of development resources to me. Not only is it a "If you have to ask" moment, you know they're giving these guys money for what's essentially a PR stunt.

I don't care if your game is plausible or not. Just make it fun.

That makes sense. It's like during the development of Oblivion, I believe Bethesda had parts of their art department go to study landscaping, rock formation and erosion. It sounds neat and can make the game look a bit nicer if you know about it, but otherwise... eh, a rocks a rock. :P

They actually consulted geologists to give them advice on realistic rock formations, slopes, things of that nature.

That's the one, I knew it was something like that. Of course, such research can benefit a game as I'm sure Shogun 2: Total War wouldn't have been as good as it is if they didn't do the research they did.

While I'm not that interested in this game, I'll say that the research isn't entirely unwarranted as hacking is a major theme within the game but partly because of that, hacking would have to be made partway enjoyable and/or challenging where in real life hacking is more logging in with username and password or using a small coded program in a command prompt type window to automate the guessing yah?

Shame the final product had such sterile and unbelievably boring landscapes. It's like they totally disregarded whatever advice they were given.

Hacking in real-life isn't fun. The fun starts after you get access to a system. If they give us enough !!FUN!! stuff to do after the hacking, I'm game.

This

As someone who works as a semi security tech ( semi because still training )  and currently doing a 100% practical certification to do with hacking and network security. its fun and not fun they really need to get it on the ball and have it right otherwise it just becomes bloated and boring.

I hope they have it sort of realistic with good helpings of Hollywood

Nobody ever said Uplink was realistic, but there were lots of people who enjoyed it. I hope they can bring the best of both worlds to Mr. Vigilante Hacker's phone, battery life excluded.

Then again, that may make an interesting plot point; (I'm probably abusing this semicolon) a mission where you run out of battery power and have to carry out a plan or escape from something with only your wits (and gun and baton and non phone gadgets).

It's known as the Oppai-Kaiju effect. The islands of Japan generate a sort anti-gravity field, which allows breasts to behave as if in microgravity. It's also what allows Godzilla and friends to become 50 stories tall, and lets ninjas run up the side of a skyscraper.
