Cress jumps back, startled by the glowing and tingling sensation.

"Hatway ehtay uckbay? I mean, what the buck? You two feel... odd, just now?"

He looks puzzled and thoughtful for a moment.

"Additionally, I don't recall ever hearing of meteorites behaving in this particular fashion. Perhaps we should hurry along to Miss Sparkle; she is a well-read pony, and it's possible she knows more about such things."

"Conjuro farinam." A sugar taco appears and I eat it, making the connection between the tingling and the sudden understanding of Latin.

Everyone leaves with their newfound abilities.

Yeah, just Google Translate the words for your spell. Some example spells:

((careful, with that system I might start going for, say, "incudem iactari impetum" or "magnis subita cade e conflagrare incudas". Because I could certainly try to. >:) ))

Bulat reels from the sensation for a moment, but shakes off the strange feeling.

"Ugh. Ai, my hed feels strange. Vot is dis strange rock, anyvey? You two go on ahead and help miss Sparkle, I vant to try someting here."

Bulat carefully approaches the meteorite, tentatively feeling the temperature of the surface with his hoof. He examines the rock until he finds what he thinks is a deep crack in its surface. Then, rearing up, Bulat strikes the rock with both of his forehooves, making full use of his Ironwither strength and blacksmith skill.

Cress trots off towards the Ponyville library. As he goes, he occasionally glances at plants in window boxes and along the road, muttering "Gigas flore" experimentally.

((Egads, this will be probably laughable for anyone who actually knows Latin. Sorry if I butcher it horribly, the only Latin I've ever used is in identifying plants.))

((I wouldn't worry, I don't think too many people actually know Latin around here. Though I'm fairly sure there are people here who do. :) I just use the Google Translate site and apply what vestigial knowledge of the syntax I have to the output.

On that note, I am also fairly sure there's no such thing as Latin in Equestria, kinda like there is no English or French. At least it would be named as a pun of some sort.))

((Perhaps we can call it Ancient Pegasan? Since the pegasi have the whole Greco-Roman vibe going on.))

(P.S. ignore the 'no Latin in Equestria' thing, they have French AKA fancy, so just consider it another fancy language. Also, I don't know Latin, I might take classes later though. I just use Google Translate.)

Bulat cracks open the rock, revealing a strange metal, shining so bright it's almost blinding. A projection appears out of the light, taking the form of a pony.

"Interitum mundi! Erit destruere mannis! Erit interficiam omnes! Veniemus et mundi regnare! Tibi vivat, quia habet virtutem ad illud idem! Loquimini verba virtutem sic vives. Verba a plerisque dici non potest. Te sunt specialis mannis. Non nisi amicis! Non salvabo eos! Ego sum a titulus perditionem. Vivere dum potest. Nostrum genus est potentissimum! Etiam nisi gestum, verba nostra potestate. Te non spes."

The strange apparition dissapears.

((If I may point out one more thing, this technically isn't an RTD. More of a freeform RP at this point. I don't particularly mind though.))

Bulat listens to the ominous-sounding monologue of the apparition with mild disbelief and slight concern, but as soon as it disappears he turns his attention to the insides of the broken rock.

"Aga! I knew dere vould be someting interesting in here."

Bulat pries off a manageable chunk of the shining metal and stuffs it into his saddlebags
((that he always had on all this time)) and makes his way after Bluster and Cress, who have no doubt reached the library while he was busy.

(Well, you might as well all be here.)

As you walk into the library tree that is Twilight's house, the lavender unicorn greets you.

"Oh! You must be the new ponies in town. Pinkie must have sent you over to help with my, er, plant problem." She gestures to a large plant that seems to have teeth. "Um, I think I'll just leave you here to deal with it." She runs out and shuts the door.

The large plant seems to want to eat you. What will you do?

Battle commence!

Cress stares at the plant with a big grin.

"Aren't you an absolute beauty! Similar to a Zebracan Tooth-Vine, or possibly a Griffin-catcher from the northern bogs! Fascinating!"

His eyes gleam and his grin becomes slightly... manic.

"I simply must have it for my collection!"

He attempts to grasp and hold the plant still with his magic.

Bulat looks over the plant warily, and scratches his chin.

"Vait a moment, is it just me or did miss Tvilight - whom, unless I am mistaken, I hav heard to have ridden dis town of a fifty-hoof Ursa Minor by her lonesome - just retreat from a... toothy plant? You may vant to be careful dere, Cress."

He tries to edge around the library interior, looking for a good direction of attack on the undoubtedly dangerous plant. He also momentarily laments not having brought any of his favorite daggers - blunt kicks won't be too great against a plant.

(6 + 2 v 1 ) Cress grabs the plant with his magic, and instantly subdues it. It's now his to keep. Twilight peeks through the keyhole, and comes in, seeimg her problem has been solved.

"Oh, thank you." She sighs relievedly. "I thought I would never get rid of that thing... You see, I had a small cute little flower, then I saw this weird pony, who looked like he was made of light. I heard him say some weird words, and then the flower turned into... that. Thank you. You want to know what he said?"

((Well, that went well.  :o))

Cress looks up from cooing and mumbling in foal-speak at the plant.

"Certainly, Miss Sparkle."

He returns to cuddling the subdued plant.

Cress looks puzzled.

"An evil plant? What in the world was he talking about? The only plant here is sweet little Chompy here, and he wouldn't hurt anypony."

He looks fondly at the photosynthetic monstrosity.
