GENTLEMEN.

Mari0 is the first game, at least IMO, to prove that the leading game mechanic missing in all games is the Portal Gun. It's a complete recreation of the first Super Mario Brothers (and Lost Levels, along with many other map packs) that gives Mario instead access to the Portal Gun from Portal 1 and Portal 2. Having difficult reaching a high up ledge? Place a blue portal opposite the ledge and fall into an orange portal on the ground from above. Of course, Aperture Science is not responsible for deaths resulting from accidentally portaling straight into a Piranha Plant's gullet.

This is their current full-time project, but they've done other remakes in the past. Notably, a joke version of Tetris in which the blocks aren't bound to a grid. I think there's a Pacman thing and maybe something else. I don't know.

Heh, just watched it. Two conclusions:
1) Playing this with other people is hilarious;
2) There is no point playing in any other way due to portals being unnecessary for actual progress.

Yeah, for the original (SMB and Lost Levels) map packs, they're completely unnecessary. The levels just weren't designed for them. It's the Aperture (and other fan-made) map packs that really let the portals shine.

Good fun, but I have a bit of issue with how difficult it is to use a controller with this.
