We have been informed, in fact, by a reliable source, that we did break a record in kickstart. The fastest roguelike to get funded :D

That is very cool, and well done indeed!

Now call it an RPG, and try to get some funding out of those scared off by the roguelike tag!  ;D

I don't think so. I think what we get at 7.5k is a new tileset, instead of the one we have now.

Yah, the current is just core engine stuff - no tileset here, this is an extended ASCII + truecolor setup from what I understand.

I don't know if you could technically call it ASCII, since it does use non-ASCII characters (in addition to ASCII characters). Probably not.

It is all text, though, since one of libTCOD's limitations (barring the use of being able to draw on the SDL surface, which is something I'm currently working on figuring out) is that it uses all monochromatic text characters.

If so, the answer is no. There are additional characters in there that would need to be replicated that aren't in standard ASCII sets.

I actually hope the funds are raised for a proper tileset. Normally I like ASCII graphics, but this seems like exactly the kind of roguelike that would benefit from one. I mean, you've already got spectacular in-game art, at least for terrain :D
