March 15th, 1936The German military, in another violation of the Treaty of Versailles, has begun positioning troops in the demilitarized Rhineland. In response, French troops are being diverted from the central areas of the country towards the heavily fortified Maginot line. Additional fortifications are being constructed along the border with Belgium as well.
April 21st, 1936Other than a disagreement between German and British diplomats, and a right-wing coup in Cuba, the past month has been very quiet. We have lowered our espionage spending in order to bolster our cash reserves.
May 10th, 1936The first round of fortifications along the Belgian line have been finished ahead of schedule. Another tier of forts will be finished before the end of the year.
June 11th, 1936In a recent election, the French people have decided to elect the Social Democrats to office. The Czechoslovak people have had a similar election as well.
June 18th, 1936The Fuhrer himself met with allied leaders today, assuring them of his peaceful intentions. We don't buy it, the British on the other hand are oblivious.

July 12th, 1936Egypt has today declared independence, nominally, from the British, they remain part of our alliance.
July 17th, 1936Civil war has broken out between nationalist and republican forces in Spain today. We will keep a close eye on the events as they unfold.
And so the Republic has arrived at a crossroads, should we increase our mobilization and begin deploying our troops? Or should we sit idly by, awaiting our enemies next move?
