Libya is already Italian, you're thinking about Ethiopia (Abyssinia) which isn't that much of a concern, because it's near the British colonies, not ours.

Is there a way to support the Abyssinian?

Uh, the Ethiopians were annexed a month or two ago, so no.  :D

The only non colonial countries in Africa are South Africa and Liberia...

I just played for a couple months but it crashed, and I had autosaves off for some reason. I've lost the will to replay that (nothing really happened in game anyway) for now.

It's not your fault, it's the evil Death Star inside your computer that caused your game to crash, killing all inhabidants of the save that should have been.  The dark side is evil indeed.

April 3rd, 1937

Ahem... I'm feeling a bit of Déjà vu... anyway, troops have been diverted from the Spanish border and other fun stuff has happened (nothing). Also, notice our current fiscal situation. That's right, our coffers contain a whopping 0.1 British Pounds. Considering the condition of the world economy, that probably translates to a few million Francs, so we're Le Filthy Rich Frenchmen!

April 19th, 1937

Our embassy in Japan has been flooding us with reports of a right wing coup in that country. I didn't know they could get any farther to the right. They may be trying to catch up to their German counterparts.

Spoiler (click to show/hide)

May 27th, 1937

Infantry we qued up some time ago is just beginning to come out to training. It warms my heart to see the faces of our fresh French youth eager to fight for Liberté, égalité, fraternité. Little do they know what our German foe fights for, something far cooler.

Spoiler (click to show/hide)

June 9th, 1937

We finished expanding factories in one or two cities, so our energy will be focused on producing units and upgrading our existing units.

June 26th, 1937

Although our 4 remaining 1936 Super Awesome Infantry units with Medium Tank and Artillery attachment brigades won't be finished until February of 1938, we should decide what units to produce next.

Spoiler (click to show/hide)

On a side note, Heavy Tank Brigades. I have no idea when they will be done being researched since we're starting them 2 years before their historical start. Come to think of it, this is fairly irrelevant since we most likely won't be deploying tank brigades until at least 1940.

Do You have Tank Destoyers? A few brigades off those can trash a German Division.

Hey guys. We have no tanks (except for flimsy post ww1 brigades that we can attach to our infantry/cavalry/mountain/motorized divisions). I thought I made it pretty clear, but I'll put up the most recent research overview again:

The infantry divisions that we are producing right now have tank and (interwar) artillery attachments, which increase attack and some other stuff.

Judging by this last screen, we have no tank destroyers at all, among other necessary things... But they are still a little too futuristic for our humble army.

-------------------------- Back to the actual gameplay -----------------------

September 26th, 1937

After a period of inactivity on the Belgian front, our engineers up and decided to build some more forts along the border.

Spoiler: GIVE ME FORTS DAMN YOU (click to show/hide)

October 9th, 1937

Since pretty much nothing I do will give us an actual income instead of hovering at around 1.0 £, the French people have demanded an another federal issue of currency.

November 26th, 1937

Dernières nouvelles! Our scientists have discovered a lake in Northern Russia and have thus called it "Lake" (Le lac in God's language), Those sneaky Russians thought they could pull the wool over our eyes like that. Bah! After we're done fucking up the Germans with our nonexistent tank destroyers, they're next!

December 7th, 1937

Well, that was quick, you remember those forts I was just talking about? They're done, and to boot, the Panamanians are revolting! As far as le peuple français are concerned, life is good.

Spoiler: Forts and Revolutions (click to show/hide)

January 1st, 1938

Spoiler: Bonne année 1938! (click to show/hide)

And so, a new year brings new decisions. First and foremost, what should I do with the sliders in the bottom right of the diplomacy screen now that we can change them again, and second, what ever else you guys can think of really. What should we research? What should we build? What puny nation should we invade and subjugate to our wise French rule? If you have any questions/concerns/comments/complaints, be sure to hit that little reply button at the top and bottom of this page. I'm not sure I want to put up a picture of all the research screens, but if need be, then I will.

Make infantry then.  Or artillery, but you're not gonna be breaking down a lot of forts yet, right?

Then again, I don't really know the actual unit strengths, and the screenies are just confusing.

My vote is Change slider to interventionism more.

How is Belgium a defender's wet dream? It's flat, without many natural chokepoints.

I mean, here in Belgium we're use to just be walked over by the Germans whenever they want to invade France, and being totally overrun in a couple of day. It's kinda insulting to be told that we could have actually stopped them.
Quite a bit late. The Belgians had fortresses dug into the hills near the German border(Things that had costed millions). For example the fort of Eben-Emael. 17 connected bunkers, supposedly the strongest defensive position in the world at that time. Considered virtually undefeatable. However, the germans, knowing that they were there, used gliders to land on the hill, and managed to destroy all the turrets and emplacements within 15minutes. A fortress manned by nearly 1200 people( Mostly artilery crew, with no infantery training) defeated by 78 german soldiers. The same thing happened with the other fortresses.
