I just finished binging the Islands and Elements arcs of Adventure Time. Wow. So many answers, and all of them quite satisfying imo.
Now I'm really sad that there's only one more season to go.

Ditto. They're really tying up a lot of loose threads, and bringing story arcs toward a conclusion.

I liked how Betty was struggling with accepting Simon's senility Ice Crown madness, in light of her own situation. I liked the way the Elements thing played into unbalanced emotions, and raised the stakes by mucking around with so much of the main cast, so the supporting cast got time to shine. And... god, I never thought I'd say it, but Lumpy Space Princess was actually kind of endearing and heroic/cool for a bit there? I really got a kick out of her sassiness in the Elements arc.

Unfortunately for us, the show is approved for season 5, so they're gonna drag it out a while longer.

The sort of complicated emotions and how social anxiety can make you act in a way you don't want to.

I was really disappointing by this episode (romance felt rushed and forced, and they have better things to do with the few eps they have left), but the prospect of this being set-up so Aku can hurt/kill someone close enough to Jack for it to really sting helps make up for it some.

They've been kinda hinting at it for a while. Jack's inner voice asking him if he expected a hug and a kiss, the awkward complimenting each other on their new appearance, though I got a "bahahaha really?" when they did the "oh, something's poking me" *pan down* bit.

For me it's less that he is old/wise (though also that) and more that Ashi has the mental development of a stunted child. She might be physically mature enough and progressed rapidly the last couple of episodes (too rapidly, imho) but even then it's weird. Preferred the master-pupil relationship they seemed to have, felt way more natural given the circumstances. Oh well, next ep looks like it might be cool, with hints of Guardian showing up.
