There goes my TTGL meets Uzumaki 'Spiral Nemesis' mod idea...

I shall perform my usual practice of giving away my incomplete work.  Twisted abominations, the final stage in the spiralization process!  If you make them [CRAZED] as well, they will tend to ineffectually grapple each other without end, turning into a mass of twisty humanoid figures.

Creature:

Body plan:

That isn't a bad thing is it?
If more modders have the same idea for a mod isn't it better if they band together and form a small team that works in different areas to speed up progress on the mod?

I think that is the main problem with mods that revolve around the same idea, they all have great concepts and they all have something really interesting with great potential going on but they all die way to soon because there simply is to much work to deal with on what little spare time they have (and when looking at bigger overhaul mods the work may never truly end).

That is a good point.  It wouldn't work too well in this case though, since it was going to be a complete change in the way the game is played, as opposed to being simply an invading civ.

Although I guess with some modification, some of the original interactions could still be used - I could just make it that the invaders set off the 'Spiral infection' deliberately as opposed to having you accidentally set it off yourself...

Oh my, I passed my biophysics, rejoice! I've got a moment to take my breath and prepare for practical anatomy exam.

IndigoFenix, a high CLUSTER_NUMBER plus SOUND tags are enough to give an adventurer a heart attack. Creepy, is it ok if I modify them a bit?

Tierre, regional interactions and interactions in general is something I have no idea about - any help appreciated.

Things done in the meantime: fixed folklore creatures so that you won't meet crabs in the mountains, added a few native mammals and played with a new workshop - the papermill.

Sure, modify it as you like!  However, if you want, I could try to put together a more appropriate use of the creature.  It was originally designed to be the final result of a contagious 'spiral infection' that would circulate among your fortress, ultimately transforming your citizens into hallway-clogging twisty people (but only if they spent too much time too close together - and if they spent too much time far apart they would turn into snails - and if they were in the middle they would start setting off whirlwinds every time they tried to say hello to their friend.  So pretty much any way you go you're screwed :P).

Since you're new to interactions, let me give you some pointers.  I'm assuming that for some special abilities (curses, medusa's stare, etc.) you would rather have the syndrome take effect on sight, as opposed to being transferred through a material breath attack, correct?

What you have to do is the following: create a new interaction and place it in a separate file, for example 'interaction_mod.txt' (use interaction_standard as a base).  A simple, one-target attack interaction should look something like this:

And in the creature put this:

The creature will now transfer the effect directly without the need for vapor all over the place.  Of course, this does mean that you can't dodge it except by staying outside of the attack range, so adjust the strength of the attack accordingly.

Spoiler: Deserter (click to show/hide)

Snail Person: A sad fate awaits the lethargic or those who tire themselves wandering on the fringes of Uzumaki's influence. 'Snail People' are humanoids who have slowed down enough to be snared by Uzumaki, and thus are reformed into a more fitting shape - that of a generic snail.
Spiral Medusa: Uzumaki bores into the minds of all within his spiral and his influence can rattle even the kindest humanoids. Spiral medusas are nothing more than these unnerved unfortunates suddenly cursed with very, VERY long hair spun into large spiraling patterns over their heads. Sadly, those that would rather not accept this gift find themselves unable to refuse - as their hair turns upon them at the first sign of rebellion. Thus, spiral medusas unwillingly (or proudly!) go about their daily lives while their hair hypnotises all who gaze upon their spiraling patterns.
Twister Rider: Controlling the heavy air those selfish creatures will send everyone flying - foes and allies alike.
Spiral Mosquito: An previously unknown breed of mosquitos, famous for their spiral pattern on the wings.
Twisted Abomination: To some, the mesmerizing pull of spirals is so great that they themselves desire to become one with them. This process is both painful and terrifying and yet wonderous to those in the grip of madness. To others, however, becoming a spiral thrall starts simply out of survival. As the powers of Uzumaki manifest ever stronger, humanoids that band together find safe shelter harder to find. Out of desperation even good beings may begin to deny entry to wayfarers, hoard food for themselves and develop a mob mentality. These like-minded groups of individuals don't even realize until it's too late that they have become uncaring thralls who are wound around each other like a ball of vipers.

+ four japanese animals, dugongs, snow monkeys, dormouses and giant crabs and two lovecraftian monsters, color out of space and dark youngs

Spoiler: biomes (click to show/hide)

..... Welp, it's only fair to make some sort of High School fort, and slowly watch it as it decends to madness.

I'd love to see the Ice Cream Bus to appear in some form, or at least its effects.

up next: tattoos for troubled women and yakuza members and fog made of blood (I'd need help with that), probably white clothed pretty boy, too.

That's the point of this mod

I still have to add people swollen with gas, that circus flamethrower, whale gyos, human gyos and the final form of doctor Koyanagi as a semimegabeast (what was the difference between a megabeast and semi, again?)

I wish the cursed survivors could be eaten but that's not possible right now, right?

There pretty much the same, behavor-wise, exept that Semimegabeasts tend to be be weaker (and traditonaly breed.)

isn't "fish gyo" a little redundant as "gyo" means "fish"?

Well, I was using gyo as the proper noun for the machine the fish was connected to and we will have human gyos and whale gyos for sure, too.
