It's June, and there is a Nethack tournament just starting! This is its second year in the running, and it is known as Junethack. You can help out the team even if you've never played! There is a special award for Most Unique Deaths, for example, so even if you just die to pointless things you might help us win an award!

The tournament is quite simple, you can play on any sever that is participating. Just sign up here: http://junethack.rawrnix.com/ and then type the name of your account on one of the servers so that I can invite you to the DwarvenMight clan! There are a bunch of leaderboards and trophies you can win, so I'm sure it'll be a lot of fun.

I had one good game that was going straight for ascension, but then I died due to an eel. And it turns out that the game had started before June 1st, so it's not eligible. Oh well, back to playing! I need all those trophies!

Aww, had another really good game, got all the way to Medusa's lair. Then a Xorn and Bilouthithingie attacked me together right outside Medusa's Bedroom and ended my life. They HURT a lot more than I expected, and my character should have been able to take on Minotaurs at that point.

Hmm, have you played online before? You have to hit 'o' when you log in on NAO and then add the line they tell you to to your configuration file, and then type your username in on the Junethack website.

Ah, I haven't played online before.  Perhaps I'll just sit this one out and figure it out in time for next year.
