How to prevent dwarf going out from fort
« on: June 02, 2012, 12:02:30 pm »

Hi ,

My fort is actually in a siege. I cant defend myselve , they are too much enemy. I want to build a wall to block my entrance and wait for the enemy to leave ( moreover , dont know if that will work )

The probleme is that when i use burrow with alert in the military my mason go in the burrow. What i to do is keeping all my dwarves in and let my mason work. Otherwise they are always annoying dwarves that goes outside , running to death.

I will be glad to have some help !

Add a section of that burrow where you want the wall (or better, raising bridge) built. He'll go to the jobsite across the space without burrow, but no one else will.

Dont worry, they willl leave, eventually. But you're more likely then they to die off.

The building materials must also be in the burrow :)

Include your stockpile in the burrow, as well as the wall area you want built and a place for the dwarf to stand while he builds it.  You should be fine.

So?

Anyway, yeah, building a wall is an excellent way to defend your fortress. It even works against building destroyers because it doesn't count as a "building" for that purpose.

Good luck with not losing.

The entire content consists of senseless murder, a pile of faceless naked women and zero regard for human life in general, all in the service of the protagonist's base impulses. It is clearly a cry for help from a neglected, self absorbed and disempowered juvenile badly in need of affectionate guidance. What a sad, sad display.
