Well these aren't dwarves. That actually value the lives of thier fellow soldiers. :P

This is gonna be one hell of a challenge either way though.

I meant the caving in of the place, not abandoning comrades.

Another rule:

As many as possible must remain alive.

But it would make sense.  With some good tactics, it is possible that the whole place could survive.

Good thing these guys are taught the basics of forging. They'll run out of powercells pretty quick...

And for the supplies deeper in the fort, behind sealed areas.  With the mandatory cave-ins sealing areas off, it would be advised to dig out the maximum number of areas.

How would those work by the way?

I'm sure there's a way to make ammo hit a target and evaporate, causing severe burning. If not, that'll put a damper on things but I'll just have to replcae plasma with bullets instead.

Probably is a way.  You may want to ask the expert modders for that though.

Idea-

No cheap tricks, that means no magma-traps, no mass-cage traps, no dropping ten thousands rabbits on a invasion, good ole' honest fighting. Traps allowed.

@Splint:

Wait, is this that sci-fi/fantasy setting you were telling me about? If so, should I put in the hellbunnies as a hostile cave-dwelling civ?

@Zanzetkuken The Great:

If these are the power cells from the mod Talvieno (where *are* you, dammit?) and I made, they're constructed from 1 microcline and (I think) 1 copper bar for the wiring.

Yeah. I can make items, plants,  weapons, and to a limited extent creatures, but as far as making things do fancy stuff like that, I will have to seek guidance.

@ Mr Frog - Yup, it most certainly is. The guys holding the fortress are of the Technotheocractic Sagon-Hai.

@ Corai - Damn straight. These guys have prests who will brain rape you or electrocute you with psionic lighting, soldiers who're suicidally devoted to thier cause, and they like to shoot things with plasma.

(You should be writing these in the op, splint)
But traps cannot be used to the extent of 50 in a row.
Improvised that fail occasionally allowed.
Bridges can only be closed for one month at a time.

Yea.

For the sake of full disclosure, they are swarming predators that attack en masse, tearing prey into chunks with their incisors and storing the meat in an underground abbatoir.

Hellbunnies?

It makes this seem more like fairyland IMHO. I vote no.
