They're kind of turtle/naga/platypus things. Males are chicken-sized and females can reach the size of a full-grown dragon (males outnumber females about twenty to one). Oh, and they like to spawn in groups of 15 or more.

And they aren't your friends.

Note that I may or may not have given them the [PET] tag, so this statement can be waived in certain circumstances.

It isn't advised to let them out of the cages regardless. If they revert.... Well it'll get messy in a hurry.

I'll have a turn too. This makes the Space-Marine-fan-part of-me tickle a bit.

On second thought, I'll have turn too. Should be free of my commitments by the time it's my turn, and if I'm not, well, I will make time for sleep is overrated.

I would suggest that the rules of this sucession game should be discussed, due to the fact that no one has voted against this succession fort.

Hmm true.
Alright then.

As far as I can think, insane projects of a none-religous variety are not to be had, and trade is not the main intent.

Arriving migrants is to not be mentioned since this is supposed to be a garrison with the soldiers already arrived, and if migrants get jumped they'll be referred to as a patrol that got hit.

Anyone got any other ideas?

Nothing leaves alive unless its your "commander's reinforcements that arrived to collect your intel."

Spoiler (click to show/hide)

Otherwise, everything else dies. Noone is allowed to leave, thats my idea.

Supply caravans were mentioned, so they can be seen as such, with independant merchants always visiting bases to try and get something.

I plan in adding ina lovely food called a Smirnet. Bland, nutritious, and universally hated by the multitudes of professional soldiers who've had to live of the damn things when they ran out of rations. In a word, they'd by like plump helmets, but unfermentable, and they grow everywhere.

Even urban battlegrounds can have the damned things growing in powered concrete and garbage.

I guess every single dwarf takes turns in the military - no exception. A big castle with towers isn't a bad idea either.

This will involve alot of mods actually. I intende to build the fortress proper, and use a different race and embark anywhere to take over the fort.

I propose to add to that:

You must steal from all caravans except from the homeland. (despiration for food)

You must build an attempt to sack the fort, ex. the flooding of the fort, building a tunnel to a seige for them to path through, etc.. (Invaders can't dig)

You should discover a new section of the fort. (for this, splint should use DF hack to put walls of obsidian in hallways to represent collapses)

So it's a fungus?

Correction, everything should be in the military.  This is a military outpost.  Children must be killed donated to !!Science!!.  Aka. Dwarven Child Care.

A strange combination of a regular plant and a fungus. it can grow using only the most basic materials, and even oil is enough for it to live off. They can grow to a much larger size in presence of adaquate light.

And overall I'm liking the ideas for the fortress design.

Which ideas did you see besides filling random corridors with obsidian?

Edit: Don't forget to post the turnlist.  I don't want my turn stolen.
