I've got them more or less finished, I just need the caste leve stuff. Since I made them physically resemble humans convienience when i first made them up, I just copied that over and changed anything regarding appearence and removed thier max age (Yukarans are for all intents and purposes immortal, barring combat or disease induced deaths.)

And making them item thieves is out of the question. It'll prevent migrants from arriving cause it'll count the caravans as thefts. However I can give the player civ and the freemerchants civ speech, providing the freemerchants can survive worldgen. This will make the world a hostile and angry place where everyone wants everyone else dead for no reason other than they exist.

For every 100 normal, there is 96 regular people, 3 fire casters, and 1 lightning caster.  Put in [CASTE_NAME:(singular):(plural):(descriptor)] if you want different names for the castes.  Don't forget to remove the one at the begining, and placing it within [CASTE:FEMALE] and [CASTE_MALE].

You need to put this in INORGANIC_OTHER for the lightning to work.

I think you can change how much they can carry in the military screen in fortress mode.

I may justify the large ammo caps with simple muntion belts/bandoliers to stand in for quivers. I Realize the downside is we'll have enemy riflemen bearing down on us with the same amount of ammo. So we'll need to use every advantage we can get.

And yeah, we can already do that through assigning the ammo.  But it'll be Waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay up there so everyone has ammo to spare.

Better post this now, before you get too deep.  You have to define reactions to create the ammo, weapons, and armor along with defining a building for that to go in (unless you use any of the following in the reaction: KILN, SMELTER, TANNER, KITCHEN, QUERN, MILLSTONE, STILL, CRAFTSMAN, SOAP_MAKER, SCREW_PRESS).  The more you know.  I'll get you those in the morning, if you haven't done those yourself.

There will be plenty of equipment left by the dwarves for the garrison to use. As far as ammo  I'll see about using a custom shop from another mod to have powercells made (creating stacks of 35 plasma bolts.)

You could use the default armor, but I would suggest you make a reaction to make the weapons you will be using.

You could customize the look of the workshop using a too known as workshopdraw.  It's what I used for my mod's buildings.

Now that would be useful!

As far as weapons, most of them are simple to make at a normal forge, it'll be the rifles and handguns that will need thier own things done.

I think Hugo the Dwarf's regen mod already contains guns, and workshops to make them.  Use those to shorten the time necessary.
