I love D&D. I wanna play it a lot, which SHOULD BE easy online.
It's not.
ALL THE TABLETOP SIMULATORS SUCK.
But, there's Screenmonkey.
It's not the best.
It has it's flaws.
BUT IT WORKS.
It costs a bit, but the demo is free and it's not too bad.
So any D&D players wanna give this a try, go ahead.

EDIT BECAUSE MY BRILLIANT DESCRIPTION WASN'T ENOUGH

It's pretty much a way to play Pen and Paper games online. I don't really like other programs because complexity. This is an easier way to connect a few people and play. You can move miniatures and roll dice, as expected, and it's all pretty easy. There are flaws however, such as the DM having to move your piece to the correct spot (players can't move pieces)(which is stoopid) and you have to refresh to even see the moves. Yet, it's the best i've seen.

Thanks for the link, it helped me get started quite quick. Oh, and the description of the program is also excellent, now I have the most clear vision of what Screenmonkey is. Thank you.

Not pushing anything on you, and I've not tried it myself, but

Have you looked at Gametable?

It's a minimalist shared-tabletop sim thing, open source, some people say it's good.

Has decent dice options like 4D6 H3, roll four D6 and keep the highest three.

I'll take a second to pomp INFRNO.NET?  It's got the same virtual game table and such, plus voice and video chat.

I personally like Maptools. Lots of useful features and you can program your own into it with scripting and stuff.

I bought d20 Pro some years back and I liked it. It has some mods too for Pathfinder and such.
