I haven't had bad frame rate problems with Dwarf Fortress until now.  I embarked near a river and now the problem i am having is that I am at 100FPS all the time but every 7-10 seconds the game pauses for a moment and then catches up with itself.  So my problem doesn't seem to be low frame rate but some weird skipping problem...idk, i need help/suggestions.
