bug regarding military nicknaming in 34.10
« on: May 31, 2012, 01:05:57 pm »

i know this is completely wrong here but i don't want to register yet another account i never gonna use again, so... feel free to move this to where it should be.

!!WARNING!! save before trying!

step 1: go to the noble menu and create a new militia captain (and assign a random dorf to the position)
step 2: go to the military menu and highlight the new "militia captain" squad
step 3: although not shown on screen, you can now 'N'ame that squad, placing a blinking cursor behind "militia captain", but otherwise render the game unresponsive

I'd be shocked if dwarves didn't eat the demons they killed. After all, if they're willing to eat a poison spewing monstrosity, why not a flying dinosaur thing that hates all life?

Known bug, miliary squad nicknaming is a new feature and slightly buggy (I'm staying with the random gen myself just for aesthetics).

wha?

well apparently i cannot make a new topic in the bug subforum and don't want to create an account at the bug tracker for an already known bug... :)

as for naming in general: i find it nice and use it. the random naming is fine but you get inconsistent names. i now have "the legends", "the redshirts" and "the noobs" with candy-clad axedorfs with hundrets of kills, fairly good archersquad and recently drafted peasants respectively.
