Sly Cooper, 3 classics with a 4th one coming up.
« on: May 31, 2012, 01:03:41 pm »

I think that this deserves its own thread, and we'll see how it goes. Havent played the games in a long time. (they are on my ps2, and that thing barely gets used anymore, even tough it has many great games)
Little intro:

Sly Cooper is a game series where you are a raccoon guy in a world populated with sentient animals (would not make much sense otherwise), and you are a world-class robber. You only rob the bad guys tough. You are part of a gang with a super-intelligent turtle and a fat hippo. You go to certain places and slowly infiltrate into the enemy base, taking out key locations and guards, and hacking systems. Its seperated into a few missions, but you are always free to move around on your own intiative. Guards will notice you, and you can take them out, but you can also flee and try to hide. Its also quite platforming-centered.

Its really a gem, one of the games i sometimes remember when browsing the internet.

Now, there's a fourth one coming up in this very year, wich is obviously very awesome.
So, what are your toughts on this? Is this a awesome game? Do you think this is a little gem?
How excited are you about the fourth game in the series?

Heck ya!  Sly Cooper is one of my favorite playstation game series.  Great gameplay and fantastic dialog.  I'm so looking forward to the fourth one!

Its a nifty series with lots of style and charm. The stealth elements very much compliment the platforming to create a fun experience. In my opinion, the Sly Cooper series is one of the best platforming series on the PS2, third only to Jak & Daxter and Ratchet & Clank series.

Heh, ratchet and clank 3 (or 2?) is actually how i discovered sly, or mayby its the other way around. My sly thing contained a demo of that, so did my ratchet and clank thing.

EDIT:
Alright guys, i'm going off to do some gaming, so you can peacefully discuss this without me popping in every 2 posts, as is my bad habit.

I played the first one but never beat it, can't remember but it might have been because we rented it or something. I can't remember ever owning it.

I do remember watching a Let's Play of the series and it looks exactly what I expected it to be.
Despite one of the bosses being a series of quicktime events it appealed quite a bit to me, probably because it was rhythm based and had a song to go with it =p

You know, Bentley was getting pretty ruthless in sly cooper 3.  I wonder if the trend will continue in number 4.  I almost think he could be the bad guy if they make a number 5.

I dont know? I mean Sly basically was brainwashed into cooperating with Carmelita, so it most likely is, yes.
