Honestly, Siren's reasonably easy for just about any party except Thieves. Then you have to farm up 3 daggers off of skeletons if you want to do any damage.

I'm doing Zerker challenge right now, and once I got past the stumbling blocks that were Garula and Liquid Fire (Oh god liquid fire. I was level 28 by the time I could actually finish it. ;_;) and I got death sickles everything started dropping like flies. Even on my two non-zerkers, I still had Use Axe on them. 4x whatever the chance of instant death is means enemies die really really fast.

You're on Berserker Risk? Sounds fun. I haven't had remotely that much difficulty SO FAR since I'm only at the mountain(IHATEMAGISSASOMUCH) but it'll probably be owning my face soon enough.

PROGRESS EDIT: I beat Magissa and Garula fairly easily with my four blue mages and now I've got two Summoners. I'll grab Shiva soon, but for now I'm going to grind a bit so I can get !Summon for everyone.

Holy fuck. You got Blue Mage AND Summoner? Damn, son. You've got two of the best classes possible. I'm so jelly.

A word of advice for all people who can hold rods: Go to Karnak and grab two flame rods before you fight Shiva. Break them at her and watch as she instantly blows up. Rods are OP as all fuck. Abuse that.

Alllllrighty. I haven't played through this all the way before, so this should be fun. Getting set up.

Bluerobin has registered for #FFV4JF2012, got the Wind Job 'Knight' and will break their A button.

I'm not so sure about this...

Edit: Hmm, so what version do people recommend. I have the PSX version, but I really dislike the lag when battles start up, so I'm looking into alternatives. Does the Advance version break anything?

The moment the lever was pulled, somebody's pet kitten stepped onto the bridge. I read somewhere that if a cat falls more than 11 stories, it instinctively flares its legs out to increase air resistance. This slows it down enough to stick the landing with relatively minor injuries. In Dwarf Fortress, apparently, cats don't do that.

I know we're not supposed to tweet until we get to the appropriate part of the game... but in anticipation for reaching the Earth crystal, I HAD to peek ahead at my final job. My future party setup will be:

-Black Mage
-Geomancer
-Summoner
-Dragoon

That's a hefty amount of firepower if I do say so myself.

Freeform: You dirty cheater you. And holy fuck I'm jelly. Except for maybe that Geomancer. I could do without.

The only thing I like about the Geomancer is that certain terrain allows it to do gargantuan damage at no MP cost. Other than that, useless :I at least 3/4 of my characters will have !Summon by then.

Hell yes.

Liquid Flame went down first try.

Bartz was the only survivor.

I got Aqua Breath.

Again, Bartz was the only survivor.

Now to try heading for the Library to fight Ifrit and Byblos.

...Bartz will probably be the only survivor.

Bluerobin can now use the Water Job 'Berserker'. HAHAHAHAHAHA
:(
All I want is a mage... is that really too much to ask for?

Edit: On the other hand, 3 knights and a berserker and demolishing pretty much everything I find. Garula with 4 knights was barely harder than a normal enemy. :-\

I think I severely overestimated how difficult the game would be without White Magic. Heading into World 2 now.

My four classes are as follows(I'm on hard mode)

Wind: Black Mage
Water: Red Mage
Fire: Geomancer(I start to panic)
Earth: Ranger

I'm about to go to exdeath's castle.  The 4 crystal guardians in moore really really sucked.  I was lucky enough to still have my killer bow and had my ranger instant ko the fire guardian(Who is invincible to all black magic and geomancer does a piddly 400 damage with gaia)  It wiped me out the first time because Firaga spam at it's low health point killed me in two rounds.

Not having higher tier white magic is unfortunate, but the red magic is making due.  Looking forward to rapid fire.(And sort of dual cast, save for the taking forever to get part)

There comes a time when you must take off the soft, furry slippers of a boy and put on the shoes of a man.
Unless of course they don't fit properly and your feet blister up like bubble wrap.
Oh ho ho, but don't try to return the shoes, because they won't take them back once you've worn them.
Especially if that fat pig Tony is at the desk.

I had to grind so much I could have had two guys master dual cast by the time I could deal with the moore crystals. Around level 50 I realized I still had 3 death sickles, so then I just scummed until I got lucky with instakill and managed it that way.

For anybody with multiple Zerkers: Grab 4 coral rings before you leave world one and save yourself a world of suck.

So, on Ifrit and Byblos : That was fine. I think I beat Ifrit in two turns, similar ease with Byblos.

I went ahead and killed Ramuh after I nabbed the black chocobo, and then Sandworm was hilariously easy because a single Aqua Breath dealt about 5500 damage to him. Instant kills, yay!

My party so far:

Bartz/Lenna: Blue Mage
Galuf: Summoner
Faris: Ranger

Can't wait for X-Fight :P

I haven't played FF5 in years, and probably won't jump into the Four Job Fiesta. But has anyone watched the stream of that guy with the "Berserker Risk" banner on the left and the little guy with the sombrero on the right? He finished up last night (about 18 hours ago, so you can jump in the stream anywhere now) and he died near at the end, but wow. That has to be the best music I've heard for a long time.

I used it as a fairly bandwidth intensive screensaver and background music for hours. I'll see if I can find the link, but yeah, that was cool.

(he may have danced around the rules a bit, but with music like that, I think he's allowed to. Fiesta time!)

They're nearly as bad as badgers. Build a couple of anti-buzzard SAM sites marksdwarf towers and your fortress will look like Baghdad in 2003 from all the aerial bolt spam. You waste a lot of ammo and everything is covered in unslightly exploded buzzard bits and broken bolts.

I actually don't know if he even did "dodge and dance" a bit, haven't played for so long I really don't know the classes/jobs. But it was the best screensaver/music run I've seen in ages. Why aren't all streams like this?

I hope he puts a playlist of the tunes he had playing. Died right at Exdeath at the end anyway, but I was cruising to the tunes the whole time regardless.

Fiesta! Fiesta!
