Ah. You're going to have a miserable time farming enough ingredients.

Oh, huh. I was inspired by someone else to try this. Didn't know there was a b12 thread. I'm partway into World 2 right now, my set is Blue Mage, Time Mage, Beastmaster, Dancer.

Ah. You're going to have a miserable time farming enough ingredients.

For some of it.  There's only a few necessary.  Hero Cocktails(Raise strength) are buyable though.  Remember, it's possible to give the monk the drink ability(Or mix).

Dragon power(Raise level by 20) would probably help though, so a couple dragon fangs for that.  So a summoner for carbuncle and then breaking thunder rods, a ninja and monk attacking(Being buffed by mixes from the chemist, or drunk if I give them that ability), the chemist healing/buffing/debuffing.(Can lower omega's defenses by half)

I already got a bunch of turtle shells from grass turtles by karnak.

Spoiler (click to show/hide)

So a couple dragon fangs and hero cocktails and he's a real monster.  Will probably wanna use the half Defense debuff on omega still anyways.

Unless of course they don't fit properly and your feet blister up like bubble wrap.
Oh ho ho, but don't try to return the shoes, because they won't take them back once you've worn them.
Especially if that fat pig Tony is at the desk.

Trust me, compared to other options *coughThiefcough*, Monk is a good one. Admittedly, though, I have Thief, time mage, Beastmaster, and Chemist. It is ABSURD how many bosses are vulnerable to Demi and Quarter. To give a recent example of one boss that I thought might be a pain in the neck, the 4 crystals in the tree. Four party members, two can cast Quarter, two cast comet. Quarter 1, 6500 damage, Quarter 2, 800, comet comet. There goes one crystal. Repeat 4 times, never got hit with a spell once. But yeah, thief. So far the only thing he is good for is back up time mage and ensuring that Haste2 gets cast on everyone first turn. I would KILL for a monk.

I will say this about the game though. EVERY SINGLE JOB is useful. I haven't had a fight yet where any one of my jobs was useless. Well, except thief right after getting it. Trying to get through areas with only 2 weapons for 4 people is a pain.

Having a hell of a time with ExDeath on World 2, I'm afraid to go back to my game because of how much grinding it will need to get by. Monk/Time Mage/Bard/Dragoon :/

That's not too bad. What bard songs do you have?

I think all the ones I should have by that point. I'm too lazy to open my emulator now. But it isn't great fun - my healing is basically non-existent besides regen which frankly sucks in this game, so I'm stick with items.

I'm not far from Exdeath right now with my white mage, mystic knight, beastmaster, dragoon.  Omniscient almost really, really sucked, and for my party the fork tower was uber non-optional...but then I found out he's vulnerable to Berserk...

Oh yeah, and I got super lucky finding a stingray and a dragon's whisker for my beastmaster.  Plenty of ass kicking to be had.

Your time mage can you staves, and should have the heal staff on basically 24/7. Not optimal but it works. Also yry everything and i mean EVERYTHING. Demi/quarter have worked on almost everything for me so far, including bosses. Mage masher knife casts silence randomly, that might work. Slow and stop have also hit most bosses too. Comet spam is effective even if the rest dont work.

If i had that party, id have my bard singing every turn or hiding, time mage healing with the stick, and dragoon jumping while monk spams fight/comet, whichever works better. Try all the status effects your first run, just spam em to see if any get through. Kinda funny how easy certain bosses are when stop works on them, or even just slow. Slow2+comet spam got me through the four crystal battle without seeing a single spell from them.

I had a team with no healing (Knight, Berserker, Ranger, Dragoon, and !Animal isn't so much good for reliably doing anything) for my first playthrough and tried a little bit of grinding (less than an hour, in the end) to get some more levels to beat Exdeath. I ended up with about 25 elixirs from the random drops around there, and everything's a little bit easier when you can use elixirs for all of your healing needs. It helped that I had a lot of damage output, though, so I'm not sure how it'll work out for you.

I read somewhere that if a cat falls more than 11 stories, it instinctively flares its legs out to increase air resistance. This slows it down enough to stick the landing with relatively minor injuries. In Dwarf Fortress, apparently, cats don't do that.

Wait, wait wait.
Ranger/Dragoon? Why didn't you do Shinryu? You would have had a pathetically easy time. Dragon Lances for everybody, then x-fight2win.

Can't add both equip lances and xfight/rapidfire to a class.  Only the dragoon would be able to do it.

*shrug* I was kind of just tired of autoattack/rapidfire + elixir for everything.

Knight/Ranger? I think, but I'm not sure, that if you combine the crappy sword from the gilgamesh battle with xfight, you get, broken. Like Fluffy wambler vs bronze collusus broken.

Bleh.

Currently attempting to fight Atomos. I've taken three tacks so far.

1. Get Dark Spark and Level 4 Graviga. Use them, then bash down the remaining 5,000 health.

2. Reflect rings for errybody.

3. Dark Spark, Level 5 Death.

Problems with these.

1. Graviga doesn't effect Atomos.

2. Comet ignores reflect.

3. I can't get Level 5 Death without !Control at this point.

EDIT: Success! I spammed Magic Hammer until he had no mana. Bartz and Lenna didn't survive, but Galuf and Faris happily smacked away while I held down A and turbo button.
