So uhm...

https://www.reddit.com/r/cyberpunkgame/comments/nrocmf/cdprs_2021q1_investor_call_reveals_cyberpunk/

direct link for those who can open .pdf files (have them perma blocked on my PC after my college research I was doing for my dumb project gave me bad trojans from fake science pdfs... so I can't and won't read it. But maybe that sums up the state of the game at this point :( It looks less and less likely my dreams of them improving AI is quickly diminishing)

https://www.cdprojekt.com/en/wp-content/uploads-en/2021/06/transcript-q1-2021.pdf

Also, I got further in the game and its too broken for me to continue. As in, I had 10 backup saves as I do usually in open world games...and...uhm...each one broke cause apparently I did too much killing and crafting and picking junk up ROFL. I thought they fixed that problem but apparently not. Went from a 4 to a 0 for me because of that in such a short period.

Also in regards to the investor update. Looks dead jim.

CDPR's gonna have to pull something spectacular out of the bag for their next game. They fucked up incredibly hard here and it's definitely gonna cost them in the long-run. If they were consistently releasing buggy stuff it probably wouldn't be as bad as if they'd come down off the high of Witcher 3 and dove face-first into Cyberpunk.

I dunno, every game has release problems. I didn't play W3 at release but my memory says it wasn't nearly as half-baked as CP2077 was.

I find it hard to believe it was as intensely broken as Cyberpunk.

yeah dunno. tbh i never could understand all the rage. i was able to play trough the game iirc before a larger patch without much issues. yes. once my car gave me a good lol because it went airborne. there where glitches. i hated the mini game. cops spawning was retarded.
but it certainly was very playable for me.
good performance for me too, on a modern mid range system.

Same here. I played through the whole game with only some minor glitches. Yes it wasn't 10/10 game of the year but it was... fine? Maybe because my hype wasn't sky high, I thought it was okay. Solid 7/10 video game. I haven't gone back to replay it over and over the way I did games like the elder scrolls series but those are gems. This one was just okay.

What's sad is that San Andreas from 2004 is more developed than Cyberpunk 2077.

It was awesome!

I particularly liked V joining hands with Panam while they were hooked into one another.  That was kinda dope.

Griped I'd have to play a crossdresser to land with the techie chick.

It's not that I think CP2077 was bad or that I didn't have a good time with it. I completed the whole game and every activity there was to do.

It's just kind of sad that the game will never reach its full potential, and what it does currently is several years behind what your average GTA game has. For a studio as successful and wealthy as CDPR, it's doubly disappointing.

About the best things I can say for CP2077 is that it's visually stunning and the story has some real impact. In terms of gameplay though, particularly as an RPG, it's shoddy as fuck.

The problem was that CDPR had absolutely no experience with modern-like urban settings for their games, unlike what Rockstar has essentially done for years. So 'course this attempt was so horrendous; not to mention the CDPR also spent way more resources for marketing and hype, instead of not crunching their developers and focusing on actually making Cyberpunk at least viable at launch.

Though I wonder how Rockstar's attempt at a medieval open world setting, on the flip-side, would like at their first; then compare that to any of CDPR's Witcher games... though that tangent is theoretical obviously, since I doubt Rockstar is going to take a stab a medieval setting style game anytime soon.
