277.) Boogiemen will atack in the middle of the day if the clouds overhead are thick enough.

I could swear this has happened to me too... just today, I think. Big snowstorm hit the area, and bogeymen popped out for a second

In my case, they were out long enough to kill me.

I'd like to see good evidence of that, as we've been dealing with bogeymen for quite a while and I've never heard of it or experienced it. It isn't mentioned on the wiki, and could not be untill verified. The worst I've experienced was waht seemed to be a delayed vanishing of bogeymen at dawn.

Although I can attest to the difficulty of telling the hour during a blizzard. Visibility in general is often horrible in DF, and the AI suffers none of the penalties players do, such as reduced LOS at night or in poor weather/underground, which I think is BS.

1. Not all animals make a good snack, some of them, wich seem harmless, are actually pretty fucking dangerous, take a horse for example

A while back while going through the legends of a world I'd just generated I found a demon that had attained over three thousand kills over the course of 250 years before finally being struck down.
What killed it? A HORSE.

I know for a fact that it was the middle of the day, as I had just set out from the town where I had spent the night, en route to a night creature the townsfolk had told me about. Plus it toolk less then 5 frames for Fast-Travel visibility to drop to the minimum. It takes closer to ten for that to happen at night.

278: It has been said many a time, but on a scale of 1 to FUCKING DANGEROUS, rivers are around a 4 or a HOLY SHIT STAY AWAY!
Randomly, one of my characters was pulled underwater and ripped apart... By a sturgeon or something.
It was rather anticlimatic end to my adventurer.

281. Just because that bandit is four squares away doesn't mean he won't spot and charge you.
282. Dodging off of hills even one z level high is a good way to lose a fight.

287: Caves and Lair's make excellent bases, provided you can kill the current occupant.
287b: Do not underestimate even an unarmed vampire, much less a pair. An enraged vampire, even if he is totally naked, is a certifiable threat, particularly if your main weapon is a spear.

Okay. I was a human outsider. Came upon a bandit camp, only about six of them. All melee. Easy, I thought.
So I uncloaked near one lone guy far from the others, and shanked him in the foot. He passes out almost immediately. I kill him. The next in line is axeman and then after him a swordsman. I kill them both the usual way (foot/arm, then head/throat) and the next to last dude is a lasher. Again, easy kill.
The commander of the place, yet another lasher, is about ten steps from me. I pick up the axeman's silver halberd (shitty silver, I thought at the time -.-) and the commander gets in range of me. I stab at her foot, and score a minor hit. She counterstrikes twice and misses. Instead of pulling the spear out of her foot, I slash at her with the halberd.
I gash open her stomach, spilling her guts, followed up with a stab at her upper body. It sticks in. I withdraw the spear, and stab her hand. Its severed, and she drops her glove. But not the lash. I stab her in the leg next, because even though she's a commander with a high dodge skill, I've got a damned halberd lodged inside her. No dodging.
Long story short, I continue cutting her to pieces with a copper spear and silver halberd. She had a iron whip. I felt awesome reading that particular combat log. She never even hit me. :D
