Although on the plus side, some game called Mystic Fighter that looks very similar to DFO is coming out. Maybe that'll match up.

Seriously, like, plagarism similar.

There used to be a game called Ghost Fighter that had identical but differently-named skills. By 'identical' i mean down to the effects >_> Basically just renamed everything.

It looks like this one will at least be different enough to avoid a legal takedown, as they've made their own designs and the skills don't look identical. But the art style is very similar.

Well. Guess we just have to wait 3 years for it to come over here. If I can even run it. Why couldn't one of the generic RPG's no one cares about go under instead.

Yeah why's maplestory still up anyway, most generic ass grind you've ever seen and it's still kicking, even better then say RO which at least had a bit of substance in the PvP and MvPs. Everything is terrible.

I don't think the kind of playerbase bay12 attracts is the kind of playerbase MMOs attract. I mean, you've got Derm on WoW raids and SA3 praising Mabi, but the people who really enjoy maplestory are definitely not this kind of crowd.

As someone that played maplestory and is a huge fan of MMOs in general I can say it has absolutely no endgame content beyond bizzare raid esque things which are basically just number fights rather then any serious gimmick, and even then they take ages to get to, even with the recent exp readjust (which I approve of). I mean like.... I like a grind? But not when the grind is the entire game.  :P

Well hello again, DFO thread. I come with interesting news! Have a look at the top picture here. From the looks that and a couple other posts on the page, and some recent edits to the tvtropes page for the game, It sounds like Neople have a closed-yet-not beta for a returning english version soon, with classes I don't remember included.

It's known as the Oppai-Kaiju effect. The islands of Japan generate a sort anti-gravity field, which allows breasts to behave as if in microgravity. It's also what allows Godzilla and friends to become 50 stories tall, and lets ninjas run up the side of a skyscraper.

The translation's a bit rougher I think (the little bits of voice acting the NPCs do when you speak to them aren't translated at all it seems), and everything under 55 got nuked and replaced due to plot device (they're in 'Mirror Arad' now, which apparently gives you a random dungeon from the removed ones to go through), but the game still seems fun as far as I've gone so far. M.Mage can still pewpewpew all the things in Ludeon.

I... might have to install that up again. DFO was pretty great, and I actually have a controller now...

As for the IP ban... proxy? Or just check. Hope springs and all that.

E: Yesss, let the download begin! *two hours later* *3000 files remaining*

The IP ban (if there is one) is most likely because Korean DnF is the same game as DFOG, except ahead of the current dfo patch-wise. Doesn't help if you have internetpeople you want to play with on a different version of the game though...

Also theres so many freaking people in the starting town you have to stare at the screen to make out where npcs or the dissasembler is. Augh >.<

Bloody hell this really is kinda' overwhelming. Wall to wall people when you start off. Like. Everywhere. You can't see basically anything. NPCs, individual players, yourself... it's kinda' loco. And judging by the channel/server thing it's the same case on basically all the starting ones, which is faintly insane. It wasn't like this before ;_;

Also don't remember this creator... thing. It's clicky. Very clicky. Wonder if the cheat-thing detects autohotkey...

... though it does trigger off process explorer, which is hella' annoying. Can't remember if the older one did or not. Ruddy irritating, in any case.

Next time: Configuring controller. On a class that actually needs buttons instead of clickspam.

E: And those freaking banners. Good gods. Step two of next time will be checking and hoping there's a way to disable seeing stuff.

What you do is you lower your eye lids and close your eyes.

Also you can actually limit how many people you can see in towns.
