Knowing my luck, I'll get the error message "ERROR: You are too british to play this game. Bugger off." and pressing the Ok button will make a giant boxing glove pop out of my screen and hit me in the face.

Well that was a good event day. Sadly I did not get the hundred mil or the two hundred mil. 52k and 28k. Practically chump change in the scheme of things. I did get a haul of rares though, although none of them personally usable. Might go for a decent chunk in the auction house though. Got over ten levels too. They're doing it again nextSsaturday too.

I am digging Glacial Master though. A nice mix of mobility, melee, and ranged. Runs slow as heck though. I feel like I'm just WRECKING everything compared to my Asura. I think its because he's so mobile with his moves and thus doesn't have as awful a time against super armor as a melee Asura. Plus he's immortal, so I don't have to worry about wading in as much, because If I get gangbanged I just rise from the dead, teleport away, and take potshots till my health recovers over ten seconds.

LIVE, THREAD!

I've been trying to try this out for days. Unfortunately, I just can't get it to work. The tons of troubleshooting threads on the forums haven't helped either. I'm running Windows 7 x64. My problem is that every time I get to the loading screen (with the male mage on the front), the little animation with the ball going around a circle plays for a minute... and then stops. Things I've tried:

1) Waiting up to fifteen minutes. This does nothing.
2) Pressing any keys during that time. Most do nothing, but some (like enter and escape) make the loading screen crash to desktop.
3) Updating all my drivers.
4) Setting the system locale to English (US).
5) Reinstalling DFO.

Has anyone had this problem before?

Huh. I'm using Windows 7 x64 too and it works fine for me. It might have to do with those Windows Security popups that always appear and ask if you want to allow the DFOupdater thing to make changes to your computer. It also might be an antivirus or firewall issue? I don't know.

Actually now that I think about it, I haven't tried it without my antivirus. AVG tends to hate some video games. I'll get back to you on that.

Oh yeah, there was a headline on the main page saying something about "AVG Antivirus Issue" so that seems likely. That was like last month though.

Okay, that didn't work. Added a path exception to C:/Nexon/ and... same problem, I ended up hitting enter to make it close to the desktop because it wasn't loading (my "hard drive use symbol" wasn't lit up, I could move my mouse but the loading screen was stuck).

Are you trying it through the client or steam?

First install was through Steam, so I uninstalled that and reinstalled via client. Same problem both ways.

Okay I did some looking in and here are some more things to try.

- switch compatibility mode off/on
- run as administrator
- spam click the black box? (probably not going to work but it's worth a shot)
- delete the Hackshield folder and let the game download it againg
- when all else fails, kneel down, hit the ground, shake your fist in the air and yell "FACK YOU NEXON!!!!!!" (definitely not going to work but I do it all the time anyway)

I'm getting some kind of patch (presumably some kind of event) right now, so... maybe that has something to do with it.

Also, if you can get it to work, and depending on your class, I could probably start handing out free stuff. Maybe. I barely have anything yet but it's time I stopped hoarding everything for my army of alts.

Also also: do we actually have a Bay 12 guild? If not, should I make one or leave that up to someone else?

You can go ahead and make it if you want. I've more or less stopped playing, but if you need anything added to the OP, PM me and I'll get it in there. Good to see you're all enjoying the game though!

Also for the troubleshooting, I'll add "Disable user account control" to that list. Nexon games seem to have serious issues with it in the best case scenario.

Okay I tried all that. Just out of curiosity, is there an "error log" file anywhere? I can see an error window pop up for a split second after it crashes but it immediately disappears.
