His sorry state of a brain couldn't handle the fact he was no longer recognized as an official mage, and he did everything he could to reclaim his title. In his mind, that meant looking as much as a mage as possible. Since the Guild had been his home, he had to do with what he could get his hands on.

Landren prepares longsword magitech. [16,5,18] His arm shifts into a long sword. He inspects the blade and notices that it has many notches and dents like it is a used sword. Perhaps he had slipped in his application of it.

One power is used, and one power flows into him from the ambiance.

Aaron summons some fire. [2,6,12] and totally fails. He also walks forward and tells the dogs to scram. They growl, raising their hackles, and inch forward.
His advancing must have been understood as aggression?

Jan rushes one of the dogs.

The rapier pricks the dog, and it doesn't seem to care. The dog barks in a matter and sinks its teeth into Jan.

Jan twists his teeth out of the path of the teeth before they can close on his arm and flings himself towards the inner halls.

Jurith grabs a long wooden pole and heads towards the main hall. There are five dogs looking hostile.

Albri retreats to Hall B.

Sil heads up and sees most of the people gathered around the entrance. There is the sound of dogs. She doesn't get to ask if anyone has seen seeds, but she gathers information via whispers.
The layout of the building consists of one main hall and three narrower side halls laid perpendicular to the main one. At the end of the main hall is a round room with tables and a chandelier. There is a smaller auxiliary door, door B1, that leads outside.

It was strange that dogs were kept in this Vault. Of all the places to store guardians, it had to contain dogs. He wondered where their kennels were, and how they were kept alive for an extended period of time. Though, their eyes were a deep shade of red, a subconjunctival hemorrhage, maybe?

Physical description: Jurith stands at the height of 5'8". With a gaunt appearance and a hardened countenance, it is hard to believe that this is but a man of twenty two with a lean and average stature. His eyes are a deep shade of brown and his black hair is shortly cropped. He has a small, rough beard of the same colour.

He has a rough scar on his right cheek, crossing the eye.

Biography: A son of a knight and nursemaid, Jurith was born and raised in the higher echelons of society; his family was a powerless one, but one that held great prestige in the eyes of his neighbors and fellowmen. In his youth, he tended to the fields of his father, while learning his skills from his mother. In puberty, he was known to be a reckless explorer and a revered fighter, having participated as an auxiliary soldier in the skirmishes of his land. In his coming of age, he was selected to join in with his father in his sojourns across the land.

Chivalry, as taught by his father, was what he was apt to follow. Forwarding the common goals, he discovered that despite the popular belief, working as a squire and watching a knight in combat and in peace was very different to the honor-bound society that he grew up in. There were no rules in battle, and yet most enemies he faced fought as if bound by such, one law that he learned with great impunity.

In a recent skirmish, he spared a bandit who pleaded for his life under parley and when his back was turned, the man struck back at him with whatever weapon was in reach - a metal shard, at the time. His reflexes saved him, earning only a gash to the face, but he was successful in subduing the oath-breaker. It was only after this battle that he and his father attempted to join in on the crusade on their kingdom's vault, against the behest of whatever lord managed to gain control over the land, aware now of the lack of peace in the realm. The bandit was set free due to this knowledge.

Jurith was sent in part of the vanguard force, while his father stayed behind to aid the rest.

Landren looks at the sword silently. From the elbow to his shoulder, his white armor still remains, although slightly pushed outwards, while from the elbow down his armor has been temporarily replaced by a very large white sword blade. The blade seems old and dented, as if it has already seen many battles even before being summoned as a magical implement of war.

He swings the sword sharply into a defensive stance while keeping the shield attached to his left arm and stands in front of the dogs, not attacking but not allowing any of them to pass into the Vault either.

Biography: Landren was an apprentice of both chivalry, magic and smithing (although with methods regarded as strange), intent on creating both armor and weapons he could use. He was very focused on his objectives and had already achieved a reasonable level of ability - becoming more renowned for his cooking than actual fighting prowess - when the disaster struck and he had to escape from the confines of the castle he lived and move to the Vault with a comitive of fellow knights and people from the place.

None but him made it to the Vault, some dying and others straying from the group while immerse in either madness or pain. Before passing away, the Lord of the castle granted him the title of a full-fledged knight and gave him the right to take a protegee or squire under his wing, a negligible honor for someone who quickly found himself alone.

During his crucible, he abandoned his crafting skills almost entirely in favor of developing the magic side of construction directly, creating strange and never seen effects and making him stray further from humanity. Since then, it may be difficult to assess the effects of the events he has been through on his psyche. Recently he found a roaming group heading to the same Vault he was and joined them, keeping his purposes a mystery.

A wandering blademaster, Yaren, found him, saved him, and took him under his wing, teaching the boy about swordplay, magic and survival. Upon the completion of his apprenticeship, Aaron again went to travel the wastes, but when he saw the magic erupting from the ground, he high-tailed it to the closest group of people he could find.

Physical description: 5'5 in height and considered 'light' by his family. He has short black hair and an olive complexion. His eyes are brown. The emblem of his family ( a raven with two skulls for pauldrons and a bone in its legs) is tatooed on his neck.

Biography: The House of Welben is an old house, but not extremely rich and certainly not prestigious. For generations the house was in charge of all the graveyards in the kingdom of Volenand, organising all burials, funerals, rites, embalming, burnings, and what ever it is the dead need. It would be no surprise that the house had long tampered with necromancy, and even less surprise that the house raised up the dead as servants. Even so, power ever eluded them as they could not simply discover how to keep the corpses functional after a few years.

Albri himself was the 8th son of Count Fedrek Welben. As the 8th son, he never stood much chance for an important position or being heir. Luckily for Albri, he had no interest for that. It was expected of him to simply become a necromancer. For most of his childhood, he did spend his time studying the body, and how it worked and how to keep it moving unnaturally. Course, this then made him wonder how such things lived in life, which led to studying biology. To finish off his education, he also studied history and alchemy...although he forgot a few certain details here and there.

And so at the age of 14, he was considered of age, which for the Welben bloodline meant being a necromancer, which included a initation rite. The rite itself is rather...hush hush but suffice to say, Ablri was given recognition as a necromancer. As the 8th son, he was not given much responsiblity, beyond keeping the commoner graves and making sure that no unlicensed raising was happening. Then 6 years later, he received a letter. A letter to the capitol, requesting his admittance to the Royal University! Of course that was never to be. The Incident happened...and you all know what happened next.

Jurith carefully approaches the dogs. They seem to be rather sloppy and savage to be guardians. He watches them; something clicks behind the eerily glowing eyes of them and one leaps at Jurith.

With a flash of instinct, Jurith twists his body just so and cleanly dodges, then smacks the creature on the head with his sword's flat. The dog crashes and doesn't get up.

Landren guards against the dogs. One of them edges forward. Landren whips his sword-arm menacingly, [1] but the dog takes it in a wrong matter and charges.

It bonks its head on the shield Landren brandishes. Landren pushes it back.

Aaron draws his sword. One of the dogs advances and bites.

Aaron tries to catch it with his sword, but it un-bites in time and instead nicks Aaron's leg, dealing 5 damage.

13-3+2 The door stands stout, taking all the damage a mere handaxe can dish out.

Landren stands ready as the dog charges him viciously. The knight does not even blink as the animal hits against his shield ineffectually. His gaze shifts from the dog to his shield arm briefly. He will try to do so...But not at the moment.

He strikes a menacing pose to scare the dog off and if it does not work, he attacks the dog with the flat of his longsword-arm. He also blocks any dogs from advancing using his sword rather than his shield.

Jurith held his blade aloft, to his side and kept his other arm open, making his torso a viable target for any opponent. It was a lure, as his blade was light enough to be shifted mid-swing, and his fist would add to the leverage if he had missed.

He did not want to kill these guardians, no matter how strange they were. His allies were doing that, anyway, and he'd have time to analyze their inner workings later on.

He was glad he knew anatomy, for though he was wounded earlier in the journey, healing would be saved for later. His allies took priority.

"Stick together! Form a line, they will not defeat us if we stand united!"

Physical description: Ochita is 26 years old, and has unkept brown hair, with dark brown eyes. He has a moderate build, showing that while he did do physical work, time has rounded him out slightly.   
Biography: Ochita was a general trader before the whole collapse started, which left him with a couple of skills here and there. After the Incident, he settled down somewhat, having a semi permanent store. When the collapse actually started, he ran to the closest shelter, discovering that with magic returning, he was able to somewhat control it, using it to heal minor wounds.

Physical description: Female red-skinned humanoid with a slightly feral appearance, almost like an oversized goblin or imp disguised as a human. Around 5' tall, but often hunches or crouches down to less. Has pointed ears roughly a foot long, spiraling horns about the same, black hair, pointy teeth and claws, arms a bit longer than normal, legs that turn digitigrade at the bottom, obviously clawed feet, a fairly long tail with a small barb on it, small leathery wings, a foot and a half long mostly prehensile tongue, and eyes that appear largely silvery, but shimmering with a constantly changing assortment of other random colors. Her face and general body structure is essentially human otherwise, save that her mouth can split wider than normal.
Biography: Sil was originally summoned to be a grand wizard's familiar, back when she was an imp. He doted on his new pet, which greatly aided her increases in power and size. When the catastrophe struck, her master's tower was sundered and he was pulled into some manner of rift, forcing her to flee.

She's secretly very sad about her master, and hopes she can someday find him again, though she knows the odds of finding him alive and in a recognizable state aren't good. Otherwise, however, she views the apocalypse as a superb opportunity, and doesn't intend to miss her chance to capitalize on it.

When he came of age, he left the city, no food or water, to wander the land. Unsurprisingly, he didn't last long, and he fainted in the wilderness. A wandering blademaster, Yaren, found him, saved him, and took him under his wing, teaching the boy about swordplay, magic and survival. Upon the completion of his apprenticeship, Aaron again went to travel the wastes, but when he saw the magic erupting from the ground, he high-tailed it to the closest group of people he could find.

Biography: Landren was an apprentice of both chivalry, magic and smithing (although with methods regarded as strange), intent on creating both armor and weapons he could use. He was very focused on his objectives and had already achieved a reasonable level of ability - becoming more renowned for his cooking than actual fighting prowess - when the disaster struck and he had to escape from the confines of the castle he lived and move to the Vault with a comitive of fellow knights and people from the place.

None but him made it to the Vault, some dying and others straying from the group while immerse in either madness or pain. Before passing away, the Lord of the castle granted him the title of a full-fledged knight and gave him the right to take a protegee or squire under his wing, a negligible honor for someone who quickly found himself alone.

During his crucible, he abandoned his crafting skills almost entirely in favor of developing the magic side of construction directly, creating strange and never seen effects and making him stray further from humanity. Since then, it may be difficult to assess the effects of the events he has been through on his psyche. Recently he found a roaming group heading to the same Vault he was and joined them, keeping his purposes a mystery.
