They're saying it's drugs, but there hasn't been an official report on what was wrong with the attacker.  Well besides the obvious.  And if the victim survives, I really hope he doesn't spread the zombie apocalypse has an explanation for us.

So, everyone who want to live, come on down here! I got two survivalists living next door and at least 20 shotguns in a 20 mile radius.

Luckily, I'm already in an archipelago, so that guy can't reach me.

If the zombie thingy is a virus, and airborne, however...

My guess is he's gotten hit by scopolamine powder.

Quote
Police say the attacker was likely overdosing on a new potent form of LSD. "What's happening is whenever we see that a person has taken all of his clothes off and has become violent, it’s indicative of this excited delirium that's caused by overdose of drugs,” said Armando Aguilar of the Miami Fraternal Order of Police. “What's happening is inside their body their organs are burning up alive.”

Acquainted as I am with pharmacology, I can assure you this policeman hasn't the foggiest idea what he is talking about.

Reudh's guess is far more likely - scopolamine or another tropane.  Naked guy could've been trying to get high on Datura.  That, or he was a zombie.

OM NOM NOM NOM NOM!!! *Takes a bite of some Long Pork* mmmmm tasty :P

I have gotten my parents into conversations about the oncoming Z day and we have decided that we should be pretty well prepared for it as long as it isn't airborne and is only fluids transfer that causes conversion. We live on a farm and have enough renewable food sources at our disposal (not to mention a vast armory and the ability to make our own ammo in somewhat limited numbers) our chances of surviving is pretty high. :D

Digging's a lot like surgery, see -- you grab the sharp thing and then drive the sharp end of the sharp thing in as hard as you can and then stuff goes flying and then stuff falls out and then there's a big hole and you're done. I kinda wish there was more screaming, but rocks don't hurt so I guess it can't be helped.

Wowza.  How do you make ammo, and what type?

We have a mechanical loader. As long as we police our brass and don't shoot the same brass too many times* we can make shotgun ammo (12/16/20guage), rifle ammo (9mm, .308, .22LR, and I think another), and pistol rounds (.45, and others). We also have pretty extensive spreadsheets made up for what each of our guns likes to shoot as far as brass type and grain weight so that we have accurate and standardized ammo.

I also make a lot of traps that I use for hunting that I could probably fashion into incendiary devices if needed. Oh, and napalm is both fun and surprisingly easy to make :D

I should probably get to sleep >.> like 4AM here :(

Additional Addendum:
* Shooting the same brass over and over again thins the lining for the shell and can cause an explosion inside the barrel that will undoubtedly ruin the firearm and likely cause massive damage to the person firing the firearm. Inspection and attention to detail is important when reloading used brass
