The zombie apocalypse isn't realistically going to start off as one person being infected, it makes more sense as either a superflu or a horribly batch of something everyone uses like painkillers or something. It would have to infect at least 60% of people to really be an apocalypse, maybe less if they're sprinters instead of zombies.

Of course that means that your likelihood of survival is not dependent as much on your survival skills but on how good your immune system is at being randomly immune to superdiseases.

I don't know. If it had an incubation period, I think a hand full of zombies could infect all of New York. Just nom a couple of people, wait a few days, and it spirals out of control.

I'm surprised no one has made the comment that nothing about this is at all surprising, because it's Miami.  I would be willing to entertain the idea that it was really a zombie if this happened anywhere else in the world.  Nope.  That's just Miami.  I'm not even really exaggerating.  I've known a few people who live there.  They have the craziest fucking stories.  I was really good friends and chatted daily for like 5 years with a guy from Miami.  Every day he had crazy stories.  He kept multiple self defense implements on his person at all times and used them.  There were several occasions when he commented that people were chasing each other through his backyard with guns or knives, and it didn't really concern him much so long as they finished passing through.  I also got to hear all about the Elian fiasco from a front row perspective.

It's really not that bad to look at. His face has been eaten thoroughly enough for it to go up the left side of the uncanny valley. It passed "human with something seriously wrong with him" and landed in "hunk of meat".

These are not fully reliable, but it's a strange pattern if they are true. I'm not suspicious of one hobo eating a guy's face off, but apparently there are multiple cases. I'm currently suspicious, but I'm going to wait until I see a police officer getting eaten alive by a horde in a video or something.
