Shortly after the US threat was removed people started losing confidence in our glorious leader. Perhaps it was the island's total lack of healthcare, perhaps the total lack of educational facilities or it could even have been the total lack of churches. Whatever the reason people started taking to the streets demanding Mountaindew step down.
Often the people who started the protests would stir up trouble then when the authorities caught wind of what was happening they'd run off into the jungle.
El Presidente was oblivious to the unrest and ordered the construction of a Ministry or as he termed it, 'somewhere for my buds and I to hang out.' Out front he ordered the erection of two statues of himself and one of a woman who looked familiar but who I can't quite recognize. In addition two APCs were placed out front and an Armoury across the street. Perhaps El Presidente did know something of the unrest...
Currently the only person that is permitted entrance to El Presidente's private club is a young guardsman named Drakale Torres. Drakele is very loyal to Mountaindew, to an extent that makes it somewhat uncomfortable to be around both of them, as Drakele is constantly grovelling for Mountaindew's attention. However Mountaindew either doesn't notice or actually enjoys Drakele's grovelling and as such has put him in charge of the entire military.
Ms. Ortiz had an appointment with El Presidente himself in which she attempted to convince him that crime was getting out of control. However he seemed not to hear her startling statistics and instead told her that in his opinion Jane Euchre would make a much better leader of the Capitalist Faction before throwing her out of the palace.
Soon after this the great tornado began. I'm not sure the science behind a tornado happening on a Caribbean island however it has to be more solid than the science behind that tornado lasting for months. At any rate the devastation suffered as a result of the tornado was massive.
El Presidente's relief efforts in which he attempted to perform his famous "Papaya Piledriver" move on the tornado ultimately proved fruitless as he followed the trail of destruction across the island.
Buildings were smashed to rubble. This was going to cost a fortune to rebuild the island.
Luckily we received one such fortune, complement of middle school bake sales worldwide. Gracious generous children! In addition, the funds are safely here, in the backroom of the Macondo pub, where Mountaindew does not have access to them. They are in the hands of the people to build whatever we please!
Ms. Ortiz has managed to make a deal with some of her shady American friends where they will give us the blueprints to an oil refinery if we promise to export through their somewhat sketchy export businesses. This could be the boost our economy needs however it would take most of the aid money and only employ college educated women. Mountaindew knows nothing of it so the decision is up to our committee.
