Problem with yarn
« on: May 25, 2012, 07:28:01 pm »

So, I'm having a problem making yarn. I've sheared some animals, spun the hair into thread, and I've gotten horse hair thread and yak hair thread. Then, when I tell the loom to turn it into cloth, the workshop spits back "Urist Mcweaver cancels Weave Yarn: Needs one unused collected yarn thread."
I don't have a hospital zone, so I know that the hospital isn't taking it up.

What else could be the issue? I've got a dwarf in a macabre mood that needs yarn cloth, and I'd love for him to not go insane. lol.

Horse and yak hair thread can't be spun into yarn. It can be used by your hospitals, but that's it.  In an unmodded game, the only creatures that can produce yarn are llamas, alpacas, sheep, and trolls.

Nice!  I would totally wear an earing made from the bones of a flying squirrel

I thought 'complained about the draft lately' meant they didn't have a door to their room.

The wiki says that only dwarves who are in unhappy enter macabre or fell moods. So the odds are lower, especially if you tend to keep moods high.

Can't remember the last time I had a fel or macabre mood, to be honest. I guess I need to run more traumatizing forts.

This was my first one. To be honest, my brain had mixed them up, and I totally expected Urist McMoody to go and shank some random dwarf.
