((Also might I suggest getting a map repository set up in the OP?))
((Capital idea! Will do after this update.))
You make another trip down the slope into the shanty town and begin rooting through one of the larger trash piles. Most of the town's residents are scrap scavengers, so it shouldn't be too hard to find what you need.
(Brains) Finding intact scrap item in trash: 3
5/2 + 3 = 6
Success! You lift the bucket from the trash pile like a scum-filled trophy. You empty it out into the pile and jog over to the pond, then fill your new bucket with lovely fresh, cold water, then haul it back to your base. Radovin has almost finished with his shelter - you see him sticking a few flowers in between planks and sheets of corrugated iron as you drop the bucket next to your own shelter. You call Radovin over and tell him that you're going hunting, brandishing the pistol with a menacing grin. He copies your grin like a mirror image. You two are starting to look more like clowns than rebels.
The hunting trip doesn't present much risk of getting lost due to the sparseness of the forest. It also makes potential targets more visible. You keep your pistol raised as you proceed deeper into the undergrowth...
(Brains) Seeking out animals to hunt: Difficulty 4
5/2 + 3 = 6
A dark brown blur darts across your vision. With lighting-fast reflexes, you focus your aim on it and fire, bringing the rodent to a halt. It appears to be a rabbit. You grab the corpse by its ears and pull it up to eye level, examining it thoroughly. It's a pretty large specimen, should feed you for 5 meals or so. You show it to Radovin and he nods in approval. What next?
