The gods exist. From every pantheon, they are not omnipotent, but they do exist, they are massively powerful spirits. One mortal has exceeded even them, his name is Nebuzharaz. This man has defeated the gods, and locked them into his arena, where they battle at his whims. Some of the gods have sent part of their power to the mortals on Earth. Interlocked with the Gods themselves, they are the new Demigods, meant for greatness or a quick death.

HP, PP and Faith

Health (HP): I think one could guess how this works. It's drained by usual spells and hitting people physically. It's also effected by elemental advantages.

For Example:

Apollos Servant casts Sunbeam!

The Shadow takes 6 damage (3x2)

It collapses into a heap of ashes.

Psyche Points (PP): This attribute is decreased by mental attacks, used by gods such as Dionysus or Tyr. When they reach zero, the target loses their mind to the effects of the spell cast.

For Example:

Avatar of Tyr casts Beserk!

Mook takes 5 Psyche damage (5-5)

Mook is taken into a mindless rage!

Faith: This is what gives the gods their powers, it increases through impressing people or getting them to worship you. The issue with you gaining too much of it is that it attracts the minions of Nebuzharaz. It's essentially mana.

For Example:

Lil' Zeus lights an incandescent bulb by holding it. (4)

People are impressed. (+1 faith)

Strength: Matters with physical gods, such as Thor or Athena, who wield weapons. It increases the damage output.

Dexterity: Matters with all gods, but mostly physical, as it influences to-hit rolls and fine motor control.

Agility: Matters with all gods, it influences dodging.

Wisdom: Matters with all gods, but more so to Mage type gods such as Zeus or Hel. It helps one resist mental attacks, and gives a to hit bonus with magic.

Intelligence: Matters with Mage type gods, it increases the effect of your Faith and power of ranged abilities.

Depending on the god you draw your power from, different figures that opposed them may approach you and either attack or assist you.

For Example

Thor's Warrior sees a frost covered hill on the horizon. It's walking through the water unfortunately.

The hill expands into the air and roars.

Thor's Warrior realizes that it's not a hill. It's a frost giant.


An example of a contact:

Thor's Warrior strides confidently through the mountains underbrush.

He hears voices and the clang of hammers on anvils in a cave.

"Is e' back?" "No, ya idiot, they were all beaten."

He saw inside a collection of Dwarves.

"It is him! "Thor's back everyone!"

They agree to assist him, giving him a less powerful form of Mjonnlir and sending one of their warriors with him.

Morale: It increases and decreases over the course of the story and the course of battles. This is a very important statistic, it gives bonuses or penalties to most stats.

For Example:

Artemis' Maiden throws a rock into the water.

Oceanus has awakened, startling the young demigod.

Artemis' Maiden screams.

In this example, her morale has become scared. It penalizes attacking and defending and gives bonuses to running away.

A More Positive Example:

Hel's Angel spies a graveyard on the horizon.

She smiles.

In this example, the graveyard reassured her, making her calm. This gives her a to-hit, dodging and blocking bonus.

God: Nyarlathotep, The Crawling Chaos. Avatar and Soul of the Outer Gods. Holds a disdain for its fellow gods, as it is the only one with a true personality, and was stuck on the moon, having to serve as an intermediary between the Outer Gods and their cults on Earth.

Pantheon: The Outer Gods are the original beings in the universe, mostly content to relax in Azathoth's court at the center, with the occasional group taking an interest in a planet. They are not pleased with recent developments, not pleased at all.

Biography: A former "Nigerian Prince" scam artist who came upon a small fortune in an unmarked letter. He improved his English and emigrated to the U.S.A. after a long process, where he was going to college for marketing before being selected.

God: Hermes from the Greek pantheon, messenger of the gods and god of commerce, thieves, travelers, and athletics.

Name as Demigod: Fenrir's Berserker

Biography: Mordison was a very strong warrior, the pride of his small village. However, when Nebuzharaz's minions destroyed his village and left Mordison to die, Fenrir chose him as his servant.

God: Fenrir, Wolf god of the Norse Pantheon. He was more of a beast than a god, but as the son of Loki, he is a fearsome warrior. He has killed many a Norse god, and is even foretold to kill Odin during the events of Ragnarok.

Name as Demigod:Heirophant of Amun

Biography: Son of a London plutocrat who moved his operations to Sierra Leone, where he remained, exploiting the cheap labor until his power base crumbled when insurgents took control of Sierra Leone. From there, he fled back to London, taking his son with him. His son grew up in the finest schools, but he saw the poverty and depression within the inner city. Despite the luxury of his life, he grew to be accepted in the counterculture, as little of it as there was.

Name as Demigod: Hade's Soldier
Biography: Johnny was born in 1897, the son of an Irish family. He was only 15 when he joined up to fight in the First World War. He expected a glorious war where he would be a hero to his parents and get a lot of money from fighting. What he found was mustard gas, trenches, explosions and machine guns firing through the night. He survived for two months, when he died when he went over the top. His body was never found. When the troubles started, Hades managed to resurrect Johnny from the Underworld. Now, he's alone and now he's in an entirely different war...
God: Hades from the Greek Pantheon. His powers most likely focus on death.
Skills: Rifles, and keeping a cool head.

Hade's Soldier

The subways stiff mechanical voice drones "Now approaching, Fifth Avenue". Around you, people pick up bags and briefcases as they disembark from the subway car. You step over the gap between the subway car and the concrete floor of the station, seeing the grit and grime around you, you head up the stairs. The city streets look no better than the station, homeless people on most corners and the drone of motors demonstrate the poverty of the inner city. You look up at the sun, and notice you have about two hours to roam the city until the sun sets.

The jet courses through the thick fog, skidding on the wet tarmac as it lands, before eventually slowing to a squealing stop. You step off and are immediately met with an intense sense of deja vu, the pouring rain and smothering mist remind you of your home in Britain. Walking into the airport, all the shining chrome and hurried walking show you that the reach of men like your father extends to even liberal cities, like Seattle. The spirit within you told you that you had to be at Pike Place at 8, and it's 6 o'clock right now.

Having just recently moved to Seattle, you weren't familiar with many of the sights or sounds, and Pike Place was no exception. You had just purchased a map from the gas station to rectify this situation, and you even had time to spare before you had to go to the market.

All they saw was a blur. You left the hikers and their trail far behind as you bounded through the thick pines. Your wolf-shapes paws were far superior to the feet of the human form. The hikers heads whipped about, their jaws dropped like lead weights but you paid them no heed. You had a destination, and the Pack Leader had given you the abilities to get there. But recently, he hadn't spoken to you. Had you done something wrong? Had you angered him? Such concerns were left unthought however, so you continued to Seattle. When you arrived, the stench of humanity and what it had done to nature assaulted your nose and ruined your mood. As you approached Seattle, you decided that perhaps a massive wolf wasn't the form you wanted, so you slowly and painfully shifted back to your human form. There was still time before the time you had to be at Pike Place, so you could spend time

 You awoke for the first tie in an abandoned building, the filth on the floor dirtying your golden skin. Stumbling, you walked towards the stairs. It's hard to walk with semi-golden skin, and having been immobile for most of your life dosen't help. Eventually though, you make it outside, where the people on the street speak a tongue unknown to you. The final blessing of Azoath fills you, and you begin to understand them. You have two hours left until you have to get to Pike Place, and plenty of free time.

Johnny Carter looked at Seattle, and wasn't impressed. This modern future was very nasty and dirty, and had many more vagrants then he remembered seeing around London. London was dirty, but this was more dirty. He felt vaguely depressed. Johnny was expecting a much more futuristic future. This was just dirtier and grimier then the past, which is pretty much a achievement. He felt confused and slightly scared, and he needed to settle down. He had to get to Pike Place Market at 8, but that was more then enough time to calm down and get a grip on the situation.

Johnny walked into a coffee shop and got a plan together. He would...

Find a pawn shop, sell what is not needed, then buy necessities. If I don't have a gun, buy a gun. If I can't buy a gun, buy a knife. If I don't have sufficient clothing, buy a trenchcoat and trousers. Then get to Pike Place via directions from pedestrians.
