Suggestions for custom entity constructs.

That probably sounded confusing. Allow me to elaborate. I propose a feature that allows us to craft custom designs to varying degrees of elaborateness and success. Think the data>init>arena, where it lets you define the walls based on Z-levels. It could allow us to craft personalized and individual sites, houses, and whatever Toady the Great deems worthy? Anyone else think this is a good idea? or just confusing? or bad? I'm open to criticisms.

I think I understand what you're saying...
If I've read you right, you're saying that we should be able to mod in custom house and castle designs, and that the format for the relevant raw file should be based on the format of the arena design file.

That sounds like a decent idea.

Yeah, that was basically the gist of it...
The way I see it, the design is easy enough to use and simple to master, but if Toady could find a better way, I'd never argue.
Regardless, it allows versatility, and you (meaning everyone) would be able to make that evil lair weall know we want... Right?

It could have the "bluebrints" located in a house_x, fortress_x, etc. and be defined in entity_x.

I like this idea, I could finally give my kobolds proper caves instead of the ones they have now.


And goblins TRUE dark fortresses, I.E there would be torture rooms instead of slaves frolicking outside.

I like the idea, too, but then, I made the same suggestion a while back.

You can vote for it on Eternal Suggestions Voting.  Search for "raw-editable".
