-WARNING: THIS MAY OR MAY NOT COME OFF AS A BASIC CORAI KOBOLD KOBOLD KOBOLDING-

I am not gonna try to kobold kobold kobold, but

Kobolds live in caves.

They are.....suppose to be master thieves.

Are small, small enough to escape attackers.

I suggest kobolds be buffed up and turned into your "early fort" ambushers. Mainly through having insanely low requirements to ambush, and somewhat reasonable requirements to siege, give them a reaction to get copper, gold, and silver weapons. Give them a natural "Adequate Observer" and "Adequate Dodger" to further increase there danger. But this is a suggestion, your call. And buffing goblins/orcs/whatever other civs you will add into late-game siegers, again, your call.

And I vote you remove all above-ground animals, since this is a huge cavern were are in.

oh, oh! Maybe a creature that moves incredibly slow (but attack isnt slow) it would be an eldrich tree that feeds on blood. blood sucking vines and stuff.

Pot monster
Small early fortress threat that drops pot on death
Cave octopus
more aggresive version of typical octopus

I just relised Evil biomes that rain blood, make me think that part of the cavern is not a good place to be. Maybe some sort of deadly spawn or hoard of creatures that roam in EVIL areas

I like this idea too, how about you also say the "sun" is some type of really illuminating mold since you can't mod the sun out?

I like these ideas.

I want to add a certain mod into this that allows one to create bone 'bars'.  This way other civs, specifically primitive ones like 'bolds and certain animal men, use bone weapons and armor.  The 'bolds can be made a little more dangerous by letting them use wood armor and weapons like vanilla elves or, preferably, bone equivalents, if onl for aesthetic purposes.  I like the cave roach, but unfortunately, the whole tissue layering thing is new to me as a modder.

I'm better at plants, items, and reactions.

Unfortunately, movement and attack speed are currently tied together. Toady has said he plans to separate them at some point, possibly the army arc. But it doesn't sound like it will happen soon.

Have them killed. Nothing solves a problem quite as effectively as simply having it killed.

It's planned for Release 7 of the caravan arc.

As for this mod:

Make some plants that have high constant temperatures, so they set things on fire. Put them in desert biomes. Infest deserts with fire based creatures.

i like the hole bone thing and metereals arent to complicated so a bone bar could be like:

[INORGANIC:PREST_BONE]
   [USE_MATERIAL_TEMPLATE:BONE_TEMPLATE]
   [STATE_NAME_ADJ:ALL:prest bone]
   [DISPLAY_COLOR:0:7:0][TILE:241]
   [SOLID_DENSITY:1410]
   [IS_STONE]
   [MATERIAL_VALUE:1]
   [BLOCK_NAME:bone block:bone blocks]

and the test reaction i created to make it: (in no good at reactions)

[REACTION:PRESS_BONE]
   [NAME:creat prest bone]
   [BUILDING:BONE_PRESS:NONE]
   [PRODUCT:100:1:BAR:NO_SUBTYPE:INORGANIC:PREST_BONE][PRODUCT_DIMENSION:150]
   [SKILL:SOAP_MAKING]

and to get better bone wepons add clay for a harder and more resileant form:

[INORGANIC:HARDEND_BONE]
   [USE_MATERIAL_TEMPLATE:BONE_TEMPLATE]
   [STATE_NAME_ADJ:ALL:hard bone]
   [DISPLAY_COLOR:7:7:1][TILE:241]
[SOLID_DENSITY:2403] cant find the proper data on bone china so this is not going to be as good as it should be
   [IS_METAL]
   [ITEMS_WEAPON][ITEMS_WEAPON_RANGED][ITEMS_AMMO][ITEMS_ARMOR]
   [ITEMS_METAL]
   [ITEMS_SCALED]
   [MATERIAL_VALUE:7]

i only tested it quikly but i had fun bulding a bone wall.

You know whatwould be really amazing? If you could somehow start at the caverns and work your way up. That's how I understand this mod anyway, a game set at the caverns.

This mod is meant to emulate it.  Ergo, it makes the world look and behave like you are in the caverns.

Or... it could be a world turned inside-out!  With all the cavern creatures on the surface and surface creatures in the caverns, so you dig your way down to reach the surfac... no on second thought, that's not a good idea at all.

Yeah, and eventualy you have to face the mutent decendants of those who caused the world to be like that.......

Oh god, Gurran Lagen mod. Sweet mercy, may Armok have mercy the day I die.

I completely support this idea, I love the thought behind it. Remodelling the surface to appear to be a cavern layer. Great idea.

Anything I can help with, just leave me a PM, I will certainly answer, even if it might take a while. I have done extensive wildlife/plant modding, changing the entire look of the caverns in my mod, if you want to borrow/check the raws for ideas, go for it.
