Don't tell anyone that you can see their shadows. If they hear you telling anyone, if you let them know that you know of them, they will get you.

Seriously? It took this video to prove their existence to you? There have been aliens hiding among us for a long, long, time. They learnt our language, our culture, they blended in, but I know they're still there. They're among us, any one of you could be an alien, just waiting to roll on in and take over.

Fortunately most aliens seem content to remain in their own countries.

Haha, love the new doubledowns, all of them, I'm glad this thread is continuing in a funny light, good to come back for some more laughs. The Ayleid doubledown could become its own thing... =P Just wish there was a picture of Picard doing the doubledown... lol...

I remember as a kid, thinking about whether or not everyone but me was a robot. I think it may have had something to do with my awkwardness around other people, but I was scared to share the idea.

And then I my mind was blown when I accidentally thought: Wait, what if I'm a robot, and I don't even know it?!

Who says a robot must be made of metal? Most creator-based metaphysics fairly explicitly denote us as artificial constructs -- robots forged by divine hands, made of flesh and bone instead of metal.

Still, even without that. How do you know you aren't a robot? You might be a robot controlling a flesh-suit, like a material-inverted exosuit, incredibly well designed for long-term operation.

And... if everyone was, indeed, robots, what difference would it make? (haiderezombieargumentthingy)

Holy crap I was here two years ago.

I also appear to be displeased by double downs.

It's like I don't even know you, past me

Well, it sure would make babies, children and growth much more confusing than they are currently.

How do you think self-replicating robots would reproduce? An assembly line?

...Try not to think on that too much.

Glue, Ducktape, and Bolts

P.S. Zeroeth Law of Robotics, screw 1, 2, and 3. (everyone knows robots start counting at ZERO duh...) (you might need to be a xkcd nerd to get that)

You are all asking different questions when you ask “Am I a robot?”

Who says a robot must be made of metal? Most creator-based metaphysics fairly explicitly denote us as artificial constructs -- robots forged by divine hands, made of flesh and bone instead of metal.
“Am I <manufactured>?”

Still, even without that. How do you know you aren't a robot? You might be a robot controlling a flesh-suit, like a material-inverted exosuit, incredibly well designed for long-term operation.
“Am I <a metallic computer>?”

And... if everyone was, indeed, robots, what difference would it make? (haiderezombieargumentthingy)
“Am I <really making any distinction at all>?”

Well, it sure would make babies, children and growth much more confusing than they are currently.
“Am I <able to reproduce and grow>?”

You are all using the same word, but, until you all use the same term, you will all be asking different questions. You will probably answer all of them, but you will still feel like the one question “Am I a robot?” is not yet answered.
