I think this is related to this bug: http://www.bay12games.com/dwarves/mantisbt/view.php?id=5925

Dwarfs getting hit by their carried items while using slides or ramps.
I have to test if being in a corner or having a hatch on top affects more or less the problem.

Use constructed up/down stairways to counter the problem.

I wonder if logs and stuff can get named if they rack up enough kills.  Might have to get me an execution log.

So falling items now damage things they land on. Do falling creatures still get cushioned by another creature in a fall, or do both explode into a hilarious mess?

I'm wondering at how far falling objects scatter, and whether caber tossing via cleverly positioned dump zone atop the walls could make the leap from drunken sport to legitimate military tactic.

I've had a bale of rope reed plants fall and kill a thresher as it fell into the stockpile from above.

We seriously need OSHA to help reduce industrial accidents.

I'm almost positive that creatures are no longer cushioned by landing on other creatures, and now both creatures suffer collision damage.  This may or may not include exploding and/or hilarity.  ;)

Sounds like its time for orbital bombardment.

If you are confused, these comics are backwards. Read the panels and talk bubbles from top to bottom and right to left

I am amazed. Truly your knowledge and immersion in Japanese culture has rendered you a true Nipponjin. I shall apprentice under your honorable ways and learn to be one with the kamikaze bomber as well.

That should be a new type of project, making a rug design in dwarf fortress (With accurate coloring)

The cedar wooden log had one notable kill.

Say what? DF lists the kills of all objects?
Oh yeah. I've had dwarves grab stacks of prepared meals during tantrum spirals, then fling the entire stack, one by one, across the dining hall. In the process, the dwarf reached novice thrower skill, but killed a couple other dwarves. The meals that struck down their targets had a kill listed.

You deserve congratulations, I completely lost my shit while reading that.

I forgot where, but someone tried it. Both creatures suffer damage, however, the one being landed on suffers more damage and the falling one has it's fall slightly cushioned. I don't know how strong the effect is, or if this is in fact true, but it IS true that both creatures are damaged
