Going with that, then.

There is a gold coin on the ground in front of you, sitting on the roots of an exceptionally large tree on the outskirts of Zan, just inside the walls. What shall you do?

Um, I meant this coin. But OK, instead I saw we head into Zan and find people who use Illusions in their professions (either actors or thieves, I reckon). These are our natural followers, so finding our people should be our first priority.

You do not know how to identify the toga's effect. The Wizard of Zan is currently hiding in the nearby hills, avoiding both the ancients (usually just barely) and the angry mob that occasionally gets up enough momentum to cancel out the fear of giant animals near the wizard. So instead you grab the coin and walk farther into town, looking for a group of actors or thieves. One of the thieves finds you first, and you almost lose the coin pushing him away. Once he's gone you follow him, and receive a spray of coins to the face for not watching where you stepped and walking into a trigger of one of his side alley traps. Ow.

It's known as the Oppai-Kaiju effect. The islands of Japan generate a sort anti-gravity field, which allows breasts to behave as if in microgravity. It's also what allows Godzilla and friends to become 50 stories tall, and lets ninjas run up the side of a skyscraper.

Well, the thief used deception, which is a form of illusion and therefore part of us, part of what we're made of. Surely the fact that he tried to deceive the God of deceiving should create some form of mystical bridge. Fill him with our spirit and make him our prophet!

Hmmm...

Reality is just what we get from the five senses..
So, we can change reality with illusions.
HOLY SHIT, WE ARE THE ONE AND ONLY GOD

Start a bar fight with a single person, then use illusion powers to do terrible things to their mind to beat them.

You find him in a bar. Using what little illusory power you can, you manage to confuse him into giving up. Later , he walk into yet another side alley and you force your power into him, causing a rather noticeable blast of light column to appear out of nowhere. But now you have a prophet at least, and you think no one saw you.

"HALT!"

Perhaps it would've bee a better idea to send someone less well known by the guards to be a public speaker. Because now you're lacking in prophets again.
