What would happen if you dump those things in a volcano?
Will they swim on the surface or sink down?

If this was the real world, the would be floating up, because magma is fluid stone and thus has a higher density than a corpse. However, seeing as this is DF, they will most likely start to fly like an emptied and incinerated teabag. Or drown. Or something else pretty damn stupid for a zombie to do.

Zombies don't drown. If they can swim, expect them to swim.

Guard zombies swimming in magma. Dr. Evil would be proud.  :P

I also just had a human diplomat enter from the surface, hold a meeting, then exit the map via hell.... I guess he thinks he's pretty hardass.

Embarked to make a story fort couple versions ago. First seige, 2 zombies. Second seige, 140.

Hah! I love how variable it can be. My first undead seige had just over 80 zombies, and me with a whole 70 dwarves. But they were easily dispatched by my skeleton crew of a militia.

Pun intended or no?

My first undead siege was one ferric elf corpse, plus a couple of local skeletons. Killed about one in three of my dwarves before inexplicably dropping, and then I discovered a pair of squads of ambushing kobolds that outnumbered my fortress at least 2 to 1, and also had weapons. I didn't, nor did I have traps or even stone.

I also gotta give all my dwarves unhappy thoughts so the ghosts won't affect them.

My first undead seige was after several years of zombie raiding partys, so I could deal.
Then I founded a new fort. The first seige was within the first year and just after a uber-werewolf killed all my military.
Much fun was had.

Quote from: Malarauko
I had an above ground garden built in the grounds of my castle and two young dwarves spent time socialising there over the summer and at the end of the summer they were in love. Remember those long summers of your childhood? That first kiss in the gardens while crossbows dwarves shoot goblins above your head? The rain of dead birds as the hunters get to work? Truly Spearhills is a paradise.
