The creature-class stuff is all for interactions; creature-class:male/female is so that transformations can preserve sex.  Most of it isn't used for anything right now, but I include it in all my added creatures so that if I want to make something like a poison that only affects egg layers, I won't have to go through everything.

I always pasture them in a smallish room or field together when I'm trying to raise them, and let them mingle for a bit before building the nest boxes in it.  I check orientation with Dwarf Therapist.  Commitment issues could be a factor, but shouldn't apply to every single one I've gotten in several test forts.  The same technique has worked fairly reliably for other egg layers - I always bring something else along, as a control group.

I know that some pets with can_learn will reproduce, but I don't think I've tried any other learning egg layers.  I suppose that could interfere for some reason.  I'll try dropping that next time I gen a test region.

I got a question again. Its been years since my last one. :)

I have been poking at making milk drinkable, and it seems to work the way I'm doing it. However far too much is produced from one reaction.

Fairly certain that LIQUID_MISC has an item size of 150. You will need to up the milk's reagent size.

Science!
After some testing with wise turkeys and dogs that can be taught new tricks supported the hypothesis that CAN_LEARN interferes with pet reproduction, I added SLOW_LEARNER to my mini-hydras and set up a hatching room.  Result: heresh hatchlings from the first batch of eggs.  It appears that CAN_LEARN was the problem, and prevents reproduction unless combined with SLOW_LEARNER or, I think, CAN_SPEAK.

I've been looking to see if I am forced to adopt the titles of 'hamlet' and 'town' to settlements. I know that the arguments are set in stone.

So,huh,i've made a creature,but i can only play as an outsider with it.How do i make so it becomes a common intelligent creature that spawns normally and is an hearthperson in adventurer mode?

With the animal man version of my creature, I'm trying to play as it in adventure mode. However, whenever I check the Intelligent Wilderness Creature section when creating a character, it never pops up.

I created a new world where there was a civ consisting of the animal man, and it popped up. Why is it not showing up in the Intelligent Wilderness Creature section?

Also is the [BIOME:SUBTERRANEAN_LAVA] token the only one that can be used to have my creature spawn near or inside volcanoes?

I made a thing, but it doesn't seem to appear in the arena. I'm not really sure what I'm missing, and the errorlog isn't returning anything.

This disappoints me to no end.

NEW ISSUE: When viewer the creature description, it describes a tissue layer on only one body part. For example: "The hair on the left antenna is orange (substitute a more dwarven description if necessary)."

I'm trying to create a simple Orc entity to have more opportunities for sieges. The problem is, they never appear in-game, even in the arena.

I'm using Lazy Newb Pack. Put the files in both DF folder it uses and the raws of LNP itself.
They are using their own .txt files with [OBJECT:ENTITY/CREATURE] at the top.

It's just a copy/paste of Goblins with simple edits.

Any ideas?

Never mind. It works now. Apparently it's necessary to put the name of the file at the top of it as well. I can't quite comprehend why would that be...

@Laptisen How do you change your avatar every page-load? :D

2nd question: Is it possible to mod new sites, eg. wooden Orc Fort, or High Elven tower?
