The Pantheon
« on: May 21, 2012, 12:28:51 am »

The Catastrophe. An event unlike any other, that left the world in tatters. All of East Asia, save for Japan and a small portion of land in China, was destroyed. The government tried to cover it up, and for a while it worked. But for Leader, that wasn't going to cut it. Leader demanded the information be made public. And so, he made the Forum. And with the Forum came the Original Users. And from the Original Users, you might ask? Well, from them came The Pantheon. No one was quite sure how, but The Pantheon was persistent, no matter if membership changed.
In the beginning, the Forum and all the groups within it acted as a place of protest. Of anonymous power. But that power grew, and Leader couldn't take it. Leader killed himself over his abomination. And then his successor came. His successor, the new Leader. The new Leader grew the power of the Forum even further. It became a den of online and real world pirates, vigilantes fighting the growing power of the government, and crime lords seeking peaceful retirement. And what of The Pantheon?
The Pantheon grew with it. The new Leader changed them. Made some stronger, others faster, and even others still smarter. He sought dominance in the weakening world. And dominance he would have. Through The Pantheon, he would take it. But whether or not they would let him take them is yet to be decided.

Player Name: Heavy Weapons Pony
Character Name: John Ramerez
Pantheon: The Lancer
Age: 38
Gender: Male
Appearance: Slightly taller than average, brown hair, blue eyes, muscled.
History: As a child Ramerez was not a very friendly person, which lead to his young conscription into the Armed Forces, Where he learned most of his Weapon Handling skills. After some time Ramerez decided the Military was not for him and so, broke out and was not seen for many years, until he was caught hacking millionaire Robert Smith's Online bank account, when he escaped he sought the only place he could now be accepted; The Pantheon.
((That was probably the worst background of all time. I'm really horrible at writing things.))

Advanced Skills: Theft, Stealth, Combat Mastery, Cracking (Is this one online and real world money deposits?)
Mundane Skills: Small Blades, Concealed Weapons, Driving, Handguns, Sniper Rifles, Disguise, Aim, Money Handling/Barter

I probably got most of that wrong so this is a disclaimer.

EDIT: Fixed up some things that were wrong.

Player name is user name, it's to help me associate names with names. You have to pick four of the available major skills unless stated otherwise. You're not the original, so you only inherit a selection of his skills.

In, posting sheet later. I call Saboteur. On second thought, The Collapse sounds cooler. I want to be him.

Player Name: thatkid
Character Name: Delilah de LaLune
Pantheon: The Bell Ringer
Age: 24
Gender: Female
Appearance: A diminutive, pale, mousy girl startling green eyes and flowing black hair.
History: A master of deception and disguise, Delilah is as enigmatic as the moon which her name hearkens too. Rumor has it that she was a former operative on behalf of some government agency or other, but anyone who might corroborate that tale is long dead and her age certainly works against such a theory.

Advanced Skills: Persuasion, Infiltration, Stealth, Hand-to-Hand Combat
Mundane Skills: Disguise, Politics, Survival, Deception, Theft, Cracking, Free Running, Sniping

(If Bell Ringer doesn't get advanced skills, then advanced are mundane and ignore the following mundane skills: Politics, Theft, Sniping, Cracking)

Player Name: New Guy
Character Name: Jean-Jacques LeApertif [Not his true name (or is it?), but preferred]
Pantheon: The Money
Age: 29
Gender: Male
Appearance: An average-built man, with medium-length dark brown hair. Wears shades, obscuring his eyes. Never removes it, even indoors or nights.

History: The illegitimate son of a wealthy French businessman and a Chinese woman, Jean-Jacques grew up in Hong Kong, and was educated there up until college. Despite growing up in Chinese territory, he prefers speaking in English, and has forgotten Macanese when he left for the US.

He began to selectively kill his other siblings at the age of 18, in various indirect ways to ensure he inherits all the wealth his father owned. Along the way, he found his way into The Pantheon as The Money, which, alongside his family wealth, has made him incredibly rich.

Advanced Skills: Deception, Espionage, Interrogation, Cracking, Management
Mundane Skills: Politics, Negotiation, Hand-to-Hand Combat, Marksmanship, Forgery

(D'oh, missed that part. Also, @ the above post, I thought I edited it? Oh well.)

You can actually have 8 Mundane skills.

Copy Paste form the rules:

The character sheet will be hosted both here and in the OOC. The first eight applications can be submitted here, but from then on should be submitted in the OOC. Advanced skills are determined by who among the pantheon you are, mundane are whatever you want them to be. You can take four advanced skills, and 8 mundane, or you can sacrifice 3 mundane for another advanced

The new Pantheon assembles for the first time, four are sleeping

Gabriel the Saboteur(68)
The Saboteur walks into the hotel the group will be sharing for the first five days. He grabs the keys to his room from the front desk and makes way to the dining floor to wait for the rest. His suitcase in hand, he stands firm as he receives news of the Lancer's situation. The Saboteur was no fighter, and the Cleaner hadn't been selected yet.
Delilah de LaLune the Bell Ringer
The Bell Ringer was at the hotel long before her appointed time. She always was, she always will be. It's her duty. She hears the news of the Lancer early as well, making proper plans for this incident as well. It isn't long before she is on the dining floor with the Saboteur waiting for the Lancer and Money to catch up.
John Ramerez the Lancer
The Lancer slept in. Not only that, he slept in while the police were after him. It had been a long time since he had slipped up like that, and he was rather annoyed with himself. A shootout was inevitable, and he got caught by several strays. The Lancer was in no condition to meet the group, and was nearly forced into hiding, but a trap was set and waiting for the police chasing him. He laughed in amusement as they were sent on a wild goose chase to the other side of the state. The Lancer arrives late, alongside the Money.
Jean-Jacques LeApertif the Money
The Money sleeps in and finds himself happily late for the meeting, and unaware of the Lancer's earlier predicament. Not everyone was awoken, and his appetite for conversation was low. It was rarely high. The Money muses to himself that the Cleaner would be miserable about now.

"I may need your help with this one," Delilah commented, swirling her drink about. It was far too early in the morning for them to be serving alcohol but somehow, somehow...
She flashed the Saboteur a smile, still lazily swishing the sword in her martini about, chin propped on the heel of a hand, "Of course I can handle it on my own, but he really has fucked up this time. I don't suppose you'd be willing to make a little smoke while I burn his trail?"

"Great, first person I see is this guy, the Lancer." LeApertif mumbles to himself. "But this show won't end until all the actors are finished with their roles, so I might as well greet this idiot."

LeApertif doesn't necessarily hate the Lancer, but he believes that guy's actions lack a little... finesse. A true gentleman would break his victim not with sledges, but with words and blackmail.

"Well, if it isn't the Lancer. How are things going? Crushed someone's skull yet?"

LeApertif's cellphone rings. It is kept in his right pocket, and he was carrying a suitcase in his right hand. He hands the Lancer the suitcase.

"Hold this for me, I have a call to attend to."
