This is a nation building game set on an alternative timeline earth in which the first World War was much bigger and deadlier than expected. You'll take control of a power as you rebuild your once powerful empire, while perhaps fostering old grudges against the other nations of the world.
RulesEach turn a player will be able to take four actions that will better their nation, these can be literally anything from establishing an educational system or developing a new technology. After everyone lists their actions, I'll roll a d20 (plus any modifiers gained from certain conditions such as technology.) and depending on what you get you'll either succeed or fail. Rolling a 1 will usually be catastrophic, rolling a 20 will usually be an amazingly lucky event occurs.
CombatCombat is done by rolling d10's for each army you control, you can recruit an army by rolling a 13+ on a recruitment action. You can choose to enact a draft by using up all four of your actions, and then I will roll four recruitment rolls that succeed on a 11+. Recruiting too many armies at once, or having a very large army in general might cause some stability and happiness issues amongst your populace. Take note that each of your armies will have a certain amount of upkeep you must pay depending on the type of unit.
When opposing armies start combat, the two players will have d10's rolled depending on how many armies each side has. The difference will be found and then the different kind of victories will go as followed.
1-5 Draw, both player's lose an army and combat continues.
5-15 Minor Victory, the loser loses 2 armies and the victor loses 1.
16-25 Clear Victory, the loser loses 4 armies, the victor loses 1.
26-39 Crushing Victory, the loser loses 4 armies.
40-49+ Absolute Victory, the loser loses all of his armies, the victor loses 1.
TechnologyPlayer's will start out with World War 1 Era technology such as bolt action rifles, basic machine guns, simple aircrafts, etc. They'll be able to research advances in technology that are somewhat possible for their era. Player's can wish to advance their technology as the world did normally, or they can choose to perhaps research and perfect technologies that were possible at the time but couldn't of been attained.
If a player wishes to research something, they can choose to either research without any extra money which means they'll use a d20 without modifiers, or they can invest money into it giving a bonus depending on how much money is invested.
Diplomacy, Politics, and WarPolitics will be handled by the player's, they can choose to have open negotiations and discussions between other nations if they choose, or be more secretive and contact another nation. In the case of discussion via PM's, please make sure I also know of these discussions.
EspionageIf a player chooses to, they can preform espionage on other nations. First though, they'll have to establish an espionage program via actions. Along with espionage, player's can preform counter-espionage. If a player has a counter-espionage agency they will roll every turn to see if anyone is spying in their country, they'll either find nothing, find out someone is preforming espionage, or find out who is preforming the espionage.
Player's may also wish to hide their actions, but they'll have to forgo one of their actions and have 3 actions a turn instead. PM the action to me, and I'll do a roll for that action along with a small chance of the action leaking to the public.
EconomyPlayer's start with 100 Currency along with a +15 income a turn. I'll be keeping loose track of how much money each player has, so please make sure to know at all times how much money your nation has. If I find that anyone is cheating and lying about how much money they have, I'll either warn them or completely kick them from the game.
