Turns 53 to 592546 ADThe Psilon appear to be under the impression they can bully us into a non-agression pact. We will not be isgning it for 2 reasons. One, they present no threat that the pact would prtect us from, and secondly they are the nerds in the playground to our jock bully. We reply as offensivly as they asked.
2547 ADRevenant has been forced to kill himself. At least the Nommo will not know who it was that had been stealing thier technology.
Frigate hulls are in the prototype stage. These represent a signifigant step forward from Corvettes - though slow in comparison they can pack signifiganly greater amounts of weaponary around a more capable hull. We will have them ready for building next year.
2548 ADGeneral Warhammer has been given command of our first real expeditionary force - the First inanftry Coprs represents almost 6 times as many fighting men that took part in the hit and run attack on Thok III. They are heading back there to finish what was started. Comannder Happery has been assigned a small number of Cutter Carriers to provide space cover for this invasion.
Engineers have prepared a new range of hulls based anround the frigate design. They might be slow, but thier larger hulls can support more specialized weapon systems. In addition, the new Nuclear Engine is well suited to these hulls, so they will travel between star systems at a faster rate than earlier hull designs.
2 long range lasers and a sensor to target enemies. Far more dangerous than its corvette counterpart.
2 mass drivers - double the damage potential of the Gun Corvette.
Unlike the Corvette Dropship, this ship is capable of having a large enough drive system fitted to allow it to keep pace with our other combat ships.
2549 ADThe Meklar have challenged our presence in thok with a small squadron of ships - 10 in total. It is a ragtag mix of light carriers, missile ships and short range craft. Our single Gun Corvette is ordered to jump out. Before it can do so, a volley of missiles armed with nuclear warheads close, and detonate harmlessly on its shields - this is useful information about thier weapon capabilities. General Warhammer is ordered to hold in the Jobe system until we can remove this fleet.
2550 ADThe Nommo come to us, seeking a non-aggression pact. We politley decline, as aggression might be a path we wish to take with them to ensure they dont overrun our oceans.
2551 ADBased on the designs used by the Meklar in our recent engagements, our scientitst have prepared a vacuum capable rocket which will be ready to include in ship designgs next year. Now we really can nuke the site from orbit, just to be sure.
Another corps of infantry has been assembled and sent to reinforce General Warhammer. Thok III appears to no longer be a viable colony, so the target has been switched to Thok I, which is still undefended but more heavily populated. A squadron of Gun Corvettes backed up by Laser Corvettes will form part of the attack to clear the system before the troops arrive.
2552 ADThe increase in research efficiency is most welcome. We have 2 promising technologies on the horizon - a weapon known as "Fighter Fusion Cannon" (a small yet high powered short range weapon whch throws packets of hydrogen plasma) and "Anionic Energy Warhead" (which uses a quantum reaction of some type to produce vast amounts of energy). These will lead to some interesting ship designs. We are also working on adapting the material used for hull plating as a ground troop armour, and have nearly finished designs for massive ground based batteries capable of preventing the Meklar squatting in orbit above thier worlds, like we have been doing to them.
The Rocket missile chassis is complete, along with an updated sensor system using X-rays in highly direectinal bursts. Updated designs to follow.
The Nommo press us to further to improve our economic ties. We agree as the funds generated can easily be diverted towards subjugating those pesky Meklar.
The new world established in the Hayk system has been named Foundry. It is a cold world, with little in the way of natural resources, so it is designated as a heavy industry world. We have minerals to spare in supplying such a world, and it could do with some global warming. With time, it will be bale to act as a production centre for the isolated Hayk system.
Following a number of recent tech breakthroughs, I have ordered a review of our ship designs. Below are current up to date schematics for our attack craft.
Lancer Class.Recent developments have made these smaller ships viable combat craft again. Fast and very cheap, we should be able to build and deploy these in huge numbers if the need arises.
Little more than 2 laser cannons lashed on to a crew module. The shield system provides some combat survivability, but thier strength is in thier speed.
A flying sensor array. Nothing special.
Cutter Class.Upgraded with the newer Nuclear engine
The same as before, just faster.
Fitted with a laser cannon to shoot down Meklar missiles as it closes in for the kill.
As before, with updated engines
Corvette Class.A good half way point between specialized weapon systems and flexebility.
A high powered armour penetrating laser on a fast hull.
A faster version of the previous design.
Exactly what the name suggests. Should prove useful in softening up worlds before invasion.
It takes a whole covette hull to support one X-Ray Transponder System...
As before, but with uprated engines.
Frigate Class.These ships represent our most mission capable craft.
Well armed and capable of spotting targets at range.
Much faster than the previous version.
With better sensors than the Corvette class Nuke ship.
Still only capable of supporting 1 fighter, but with the ability to spot and track targets for said fighter.
In addition, a orbiting missile platform and in system missile patrol ship have been designed. Older designs have been made obsolete, but all ships will remain in active service as they are still more than useful in fighting the Meklar.
