I'm going to have to pick a new Toady One.

Oh yeah, took me a long time to beat ragnar as well. With those two hand rages it's usually a matter of getting lucky.

Aegis, my current top fighter, is currently doing quite well in arena challenges. She's now on tier 3's El Commandante.
Whereas my other two seem to be struggling a bit. Nightmare is a hurdle for sure and always manages to outlast Sagaris, wich is strange since she's a defensive oriented urk with decent stamina.
My other fighter Glaive can't seem to bust Panzer. He's been a bit of a let down really, gets dominated so easily.

On another note, with all her equipment Aegis now has a grand total of 280 defense.  8)

What a way to introduce Armok into the Legends bracket.
Spoiler (click to show/hide)
That guy somehow had better stats than Armok in everything but size and chi.

EDIT: Lots of "perfect" glads here. When there are so many people dual wielding flails and maces and hitting 300s at high speed, what's the point of 2h rage?
Also I hate Tiny Avenger. Can't hit him at all.

Spoiler (click to show/hide)
Armok's punches did more damage than his weapon :/

EDIT: And I had a strategy all planned for Armok to fight Mistress Z with my last token... then I get randomly matched against her before then and of course Armok's usual low activity kill shot didn't work there. I swear it seems like if a glad's activity is set high enough it's as if they are in a goddamn time warp.

Armok has a boosted total of 101 strength and 104 chi. If I had Rampage...
Too many skill points sucked up by the hungry maw of Weapon Skill >.<

Don't be mad at me for triple post

R O U N D  3
CHAYA almost gets up onto her feet, but gets kicked back down!
>> ARMOK SWITCHES TO STRATEGY 3
ARMOK attempts to flatten CHAYA with his MYSTIC BATTLE FLAIL.
ARMOK smiles after the magnificent hit to CHAYA's throat!  (+1498 Damage)

I'm so proud.

Don't suppose anyone else has any opinions on 2-hander vs other combat styles? I have a War glad sitting at 0 weapon skill because I'm not sure what to take (among other reasons).

Way it is, seems top glads using dual-wield are better on the basis that they can get in much more attacks, in the process preventing the opponent from hitting as much and still hit like a truck.  That was my impression anyways.

As for heading up, with greens?  2-hander probably shines more early on?  At least in the case of my gladiators...  Applejack, 2-hander polearm war kind of hit a wall in the W:L ratio around juggernaut level... Not sure if I remember why, but it could be that her hits are not big enough, unlike my rage 2-hander, Pinkie Pie...  (Get more Chi?)

But... as a war type, you do have the option to level up a skill that makes it so your non-main weapon skills are equal to the main weapon skill.  (Of course, actual skill level of non-main weapons is the lower of the main weapon and the skill in question.)

2h Defensive War is my favorite combo. What would be best depends on your stats...

2h: Penetrate armor regardless, ignore light and medium armor, cheaper to purchase/upkeep.
DW: More effect procs, better stats from having an extra gear slot, tears up lightly armored glads.

Decide between them by first looking at your stats. Pick the weapon your stat mostly benefits (for example, 2h weapons are great for massive str glads). What weapon type you choose isn't super important, but it's best to pick one that your glad can train into well.

Just got Armok a new blue battle flail, he seems to favor battle flails over mauls and axes. Too bad it was impossible to find a war chain with a decent Chi boost.

I've gotten the impression that some types of weapons are more effective depending on certain stats, but no idea if that applies to 2h weapons. Battle flails seem like something that would require a lot of strength to use effectively  :P

Just to throw it out there, in addition, you can be a 2-hander with agility.  Polearm weapons I believe.

71 Str, 75 Int, 63 Agi, 63 Sta, 73 Chi, 78 Size, not sure exactly what that means. Other than that she could have been a pretty good Rage glad instead.

Do we know how damage formulas work, like why having high Str would be better for 2-handers than for dual-wielding?

From the forums:

" Some weapons get attack bonuses from a higher strength while other weapons get a bonus from a higher agility. When trying to determine which is which, ask yourself how the weapon is typically used in combat and that will most likely give you your answer. Here are a couple of freebies - A Rapier is going to get more benefit out of a higher agility, and a Mace is going to get more benefit from a higher strength."

Not very helpful but it does confirm that different types of weapons depend on certain stats for efficiency.

I guess that means that Flamberges benefit from higher agility, and mauls/flails depend on strength.

Where does that leave axes, though?

Spoiler (click to show/hide)
YES.

Also after reading several arguments on the forums about the changes to trophy drops, I might actually throw some money at the devs. I'll get to see if the Champion's Pack is worth getting. (After that I guess I will just spend long periods of time scraping up trophies)

And holy @!$% no wonder Armok couldn't beat Mistress Z, she's level 44 with 99 total skill points.
I must have made him advance too fast, he only has 29 total skill points >.>
