38/17 seems about average. Unless you are running Trugs (I think that is what they are), you should be aiming for 2:1. Throw out your strategy for us to see and maybe I can give you some ideas on how to tweak it.

So I spent a half hour and about 15k gold rerolling items in the shop looking for a decent +5 str chest piece. I finally found a +4 one and said fuck it. Stuck that sucker on ashen, grinned at her now-120-str, and she dies right afterwords. Anticlimactic.

I just had someone with a 4-144-0 record attack me. Guy had a maximum of 38 endurence, and, not surprisingly, ran out.

How's that even possible? Why wouldn't you get rid of such a lame glad?
He might have no idea what he's doing, and thus not understand why he's losing, that losing that much is unusual, or what he can or should do about it.

It's also potentially deliberate, in order to soak up people looking for easy wins and thus net him more gold, but I can't imagine the point of that. Blue farming, perhaps?

Well, my main uses Activity 5, Bloodlust 8, defending and attacking torso, and when he gets 'very tired', activity drops to 3 and bloodlust drops to 5. My theatrics gladiator uses activity 5 and bloodlust 6, with defend/attack torso- he's nearing level 8. (My main's level 11)

For reference, my main's in the veteran tier (81st), and named Natchtenzi. My stable's named 'Doomy Blades' My alt is in the gladiator tier (fresh- 297th).

To be fair, the game can fuck you over with your first glad. Going Trug (They get 1/2 stamina) and rolling a low-endurance slave for your first will easily ruin you. 38 endurance is probably going to lose even at 1/1, and god help you if you try to go higher then 1/1.

I might have missed it, but what is your starter?

Until you have your weapon skill at a high level (7 at least, 8 preferable, aim for 9) that is probably a bit too stamina-consuming. For example, my level 29 theatrics glad uses 7 activity, 4 bloodlust. I've also been told that going high on the activity but low on the bloodlust is best; do a couple Black Market fights with my suggestions (you will probably want to test out your current setup too, for comparison reasons) and see how you fare.

I'd try out 6 act/4 blood for a couple fights, to be specific.

Well, though it may be too early to tell, I did some experimentation with the pit fights. After exhausting himself on activity 7 (66 stamina... and even less with death sickness still going on...), I set him to activity 5 and bloodlust 10, with very promising results in both pit fights and two arena fights. I've used low activity bloodlust before, but it seemed to get less effective as I got higher up in the ranks. I might consider low activity/high bloodlust with some pit fights, but the 5/10 seems to be working. I think I forgot to mention, but my weapon skill for blades is 4 right now, so we'll see if there's any major differences through low activity. (He's level 12 now, by the way, so I went ahead and boosted stamina by one. He needs it.)

Odd, 5/10 seems way out of the ballpark. Even 6/4 is high for a lvl 12 with blades 4, I think the suggestions I've seen on the forums are like 3/3 and 4/4. Whatever works for you! G'luck.

Hitting often and accurately. Seems to be working for me; I have one of my glads at 65/20 right now. Being in your teen levels and doing 100 damage strikes every round is great.

Reginald now sits comfortably atop the Juggernaut Champion's throne, which, although awesome, makes me disappointed that he hardly got to show off his "The Butcher" title before earning a new one.

That reminds me- about when does it become normal to hit in the hundreds? Natchtenzi usually hits 40-80 on the solid hits, with 80 being high.

Lower levels, you can do pretty decent with 3/3 or 4/4...   Actually, Elite and lower... you should have a pretty good win/lose ratio with that activity/bloodlust... if there isn't anything else wrong with your slave.  Just make sure you are keeping your weapon skill up.

As for normal to hit +100?  Weapon skill +6?  It also depends on the weapon and tactic used.

Damn it, someone bumped Reggie into the champion bracket, and I just lost Ingrid. Why can I never keep them both alive for more than a day...

However, on what I think is a bright side, Reginald obtained another piece of cloth armor. As expected, the actual protection it provides is crap, but the bonuses seem pretty damn awesome(16+ attack power, 15+ defense). Is it worth it? Let's find out...

A dunder 2h can hit in the 100s with bloodlust on 10 from lvl 3(that's when I've managed to find this strategy). You can probably do it as early as level 1, I think. At level 6 I'm seeing 130+ damage, done by a armory 2h great sword(4 levels in the 2h skill).

Great Short Stuff got his first loss because the enforcer saved him over his victim, he rigged the damn fight, SS had more hp then him.
