Nah not pay to win, rage to win. Or rage with pay to win shiny gear, but mostly rage.

This seems like a pay-to-win game. I would be okay with it if it allowed you to exchange gold more than one time per day.

While I agree that it would be nice if he'd up the number of times you could change gold into trophies, I think that there are enough legitimate, free ways to get throphies that I wouldn't go quite as far as calling it pay-to-win.

You can earn free trophies by:
Killing someone in the arena.
Winning a challenge fight (x2 if you manage to kill your challenge.)
(occasionally) as a reward in the tavern.
150 gold, once a day.

It might not sound like a lot, but they can add up pretty quick - I've picked up enough to buy some decent stuff from the high level blacksmith.

The new patch allows more gear to be found without using trophies AND lets you buy blue items without trophies.

Dont get me wrong, its still Pay-to-win, but not too much of one.

Also, I dont think rage glads are THAT powerful. Full-defensive war glads are worse. Theatrics hold a lot of top spots too, so its not like the entire game is imbalanced.

Rage > War > Theatrics > Rage

My newest guy is built like a brick shithouse. He went toe-to-toe with Nightmare and won after N passed out from exhaustion. Neither of them could land more than ~15 damage.

Reginald's been slain by General Kain for what has to be at least the third time now...I'm thinking I'll wait until I can find him a new weapon or something before having him take another whack at it...

Both him and Ingrid managed to earn a trophy in the arena today, though. Shouldn't be much longer before there's another gladiator in the ranks that calls my stable home.

Training Points is what you need most. 
Always do the Tavern quests.  I don't even read the tavern battles.  Do tavern battle --> 'End' key --> 'Page Up' key --> Loot --> Next Tavern mission(May want to go for highest exp?)

Applejack has 7 skill in her weapon, quite a number of training points lost... but... I think it was worth it.  Pinkie Pie is one point off the 7th weapon skill too.

If your training chance is under 36% by the time you hit weapon skill 6...  you definitely need to up your slave's stats...

Yep, I already make them do all tavern quests, choosing by which gives most exp. Perhaps I spread their skills out too much...The highest skill for both of them is level 6, which is their respective weapon skill. Most everything else is level 3 or 4.

This slave on the market looks really promissing, and I've been meaning to sell my theatrics gladiator (again).

But then he goes about doing this and I just can't bring myself to do it.
