I find it interesting that you can substitute water with the blood of slain foes and it doesn't matter if you are a vampire or not

Ichor is even better.  It leaves a spot on the ground that won't go away ever.  All three are technically fluids.  I wonder how Puss might fare.

I haven't personally checked yet if this is a bug, but blood is a food which requires water to metabolize and should never quench thirst (exc in the case of vampires, naturally)

What I find more interesting is that you can substuide blood for water, but not stagnant water.

It sounds like a bug-- blood is definitely a food that, as our pal above says, needs water to digest.  I hope Toady fixes it soon.  Has it been reported yet?
