[Ooh, spoilered conversations?  Very long ones?  While no doubt fascinating, they're not really the point of this thread.  I guess that's why they're spoilered.  Can we get things moving again?]

I'm concerned that I may have a similar problem. I've never taken an IQ test before, but for all the time I sat in class and listen to me peers whining that "science is too damn hard! I can't understand biology! History sucks! Geometry is fucking impossible!" all I could do was giggle. Then I try to talk to somebody, anybody, and I wonder if I'm just fucking retarded and my parents never bothered to tell me, and then I'd just feel sad for another week. :c

Gizogin was asleep when Hugo and Oliolli found him.  He was slumped against the wall, in a position that looked distinctly uncomfortable, but it didn't seem to be bothering him at all.  Oliolli shook him gently, and his eyes flickered open.

"Huh?" he mumbled.  When he saw the gruff figure standing over him, he snapped awake.  "Ah, Oliolli.  And Hugo as well.  Where are the others?"

"X and weird are looking for your sister.  She disappeared somewhere before you called, and they didn't want to leave her down there with the intruder."

"That's good."  Gizogin slowly got to his feet.  His head was still pounding, but not so badly that he couldn't walk.  "How long was I out?"

It was Hugo who answered this time.  "We came back not long after X got your call.  I'd say no more than half an hour or so."

"I trust you didn't find our intruder?"

"No, we didn't see him on the way up."

Gizogin and weird still hadn't found Lana when Hugo and Oliolli reached the surface.  They'd explored almost all of the areas they'd already seen without running into her or the intruder.  They could only hope that they found her before he did.

Weird didn't like it.

Unless somebody had been scoping the place out prior to their arrival, the sudden appearance of a violent intruder made no sense at all.

Then there was lana. Not a whole lot flew passed him without leaving some small mark, and he had distinctly overheard her talking with Gizogin and X about creating an escape portal should there be trouble. If she had been attacked, she could have escaped quickly, painlessly and without issue.  Yet, there had been no signs of struggle, no sign that she had used the escape portal to the outside, and yet also no trace of her to be found.

Given the antiquity of the site, he would have suggested trying to follow her footprints, but things were complicated in that respect: the roombah droids had since cleaned and even bega polishing the stone flooring since their arrival powered all the systems up, and even if the droids hadn't initiated a painfully methodical janitorial war against the dust of the ages, lana just poofed from place to place more often than she actually used her legs.  Following her footsteps, had there even been any to look at, would have been an effort of mammoth proportions.

Maybe X could pick up her magic use...

With a sour look, he slipped off first one glove, then the other before asking.

"Hey, X," weird started.  "We're not getting anywhere just looking for her.  With her speed, she could be nearly anywhere.  Can you pick up her magic signature?"

X grimaced.  "I've been trying.  Whatever she does that allows her to teleport, I can't pick it up.  It's a bit like your necromancy, actually.  Her portal spell shows up, and if she tries a normal spell I'll be able to track it, but until then, we're strictly mundane."  No sooner had he said that than a huge flare registered in his magic sensors.  It was coming from nearby, somewhere in the vicinity of the closed-off residential areas.  "Speak of the devil..." he muttered.  "This way.  Something big just popped up."

He and weird set off at a run for the hallway that had contained the sealed quarters.  Awaiting them was a violent scene.  The floor, walls, and ceiling were covered in scorch marks, and a great deal of the stone was still glowing cherry-red.  The heat coming off it could be felt several feet away.  On the floor in the middle of the hall was a badly-charred figure, and a bit farther down, completely unharmed, was Lana.

"It's about time you found me!" she said.  "This creep tried to grab me from behind.  I may have, uh, overreacted a bit."  She teleported next to them.

"Where have you been?" X demanded.  "We've been looking for you for half an hour now.  Why did you run off like that?"

"Oh, you're no fun," she teased.  "All that talk about shadowy games and mysterious figures playing with our lives was so boring, I just had to get out of there.  Now come on, the others are waiting for us."

"How could you possibly know that?" asked weird, but Lana ignored him.  She teleported over to a clean wall and repeated the portal spell she'd performed earlier.  When she'd finished drawing the portal with her magic, she pressed her palm to the center of the circle.  The lines shimmered, and the three of them were suddenly looking through the portal to the entrance of the tower.  Lana hopped through it, followed by weird.

"Come on Gizo," Lana said.  The automaton was studying the portal intently, examining the threads of magic that made it up.  Lana's voice made him pause, and then he too jumped through the gate.

[Oliolli, I hope you don't mind that I killed off your mysterious intruder.  I had to wrap things up in the tower for now, because the next thing I want to do has to happen at the fortress.]

"How long will this hold up?" Weird asked in Lana's direction. Either she didn't hear him, or she was totally blwing him off. She was busy giggling and teasing Gizogin, mocking his head injury on her own head, and chiding him for X's deadpan snarking--

"HEY!" He shouted.

3 faces turned to look at him. "How long will this hold up?" He asked, pointing at the magic hole in the wall.

"Why is everyone so interested in things like portals and dirty old ruins?" Lana scowled, while shooting him the "I was TALKING over here!" Look. "Whatever. It should for another half hour or so. Portals have a nasty habit of becoming unstable real easy though, so who knows." And with that, she turned bac around to Gizo and X, and continued her aloof banter.

Weird sighed and shook his head. There was an epic shitton of adamantium goodies down there in the form of those chains and the gun-condom that the dalek had been restrained with. It would go a long way if used right, and he wasn't about to leave something like that behind. Rolling his eyes, he stepped back through the portal, and dashed back to the control room to get the goods. It shoukdnt take long, and adamantium weighed about as much as styrofoam. He could totally mummify himself in those chains and not be burdened by them at all.

---

It didn't take too long, but getting the chains loose from the floor and containment vault was tricky. He had to resort to "teleporting" the first links of the chain across the room, resulting in their transformation into unrecognizable shapes, but it freed the rest of the chains from their holdings. Dressed like a freakish cross between a 1920's flapper girl in absurd blue-metal chain boas, and an emo goth wannabe wearing waaaaaaay too much bling, he managed to coil the ling and nearly indestructible lengths around himself, and he headed for the door..... then he saw SRM's powdered corpse laying on the floor there... the launch key just a few feet in front of it. Leaving that key, to "THE" bomb, with the door standing wide open like that..... was just plain and unimaginably dumb.  With effort, he crouched down and snagged the launch key from the floor and hobbled down the hall to the portal.

"Honestly, some people are so rude," Lana commented.

"Oh, he's not so bad really, once you get past the 'your very existence is an affront to my intellect' exterior," Gizogin replied.  Having X and Lana here with him had made him almost completely forget the throbbing in his head.  Suddenly, X looked back at the portal.

"Why did he go back?" he wondered aloud.

At this point, Hugo, who had been listening in, piped up.  "He probably went to salvage some supplies.  It was part of the reason we came here, after all."

"That's a good point.  There was some good tech down there, it'd be a shame to leave it."  He turned over the options in his mind.  "Okay, you four, get this stuff-" he pointed at the equipment still set up at the tunnel mouth "-loaded up into the tank.  I'm going in after weird to grab some of the technology and whatnot from inside.  We'll head to the fortress when I get back."

Gizogin poked his head through the portal, then strolled through carefully just as weird was rounding the corner and heading back out from the control room.

"There you are.." said the doctor, looking at him wryly. "I see you've been busy..."

Weird smiled broadly, and attempted a bow, and flourish, but the bulky chains made it little more than a token effort.

"There's close to 20 POUNDS of adamantium on me!" He exclaimed in delight. "TWENTY POUNDS! You have any idea how much that is!?"

Gizogin cracked a chuckle, then held his head and winced.

"I can clearly see it--" he smiled. "You look completely rediculous dragging all that behind you."

Weird defied reason through smiling even more broadly.

"Let me go put this shit in the tank, and I'll be back down to help you, alright?"

"Fair enough.." mused the doctor, still smirking and trying not to laugh at the rediculous mass of gleaming brass and copper rattling and dragging toward the portal.

No worries about killing him, he's got a strange variant of recurring villain immortality. His spirit doesn't die, and can take control of a new body.

"Alright, I checked the rest of the tower again, mostly."
"Whoever this intruder was was great at not leaving traces. Or then they were just incredibly sloppy and ignored most of the tower."
"Lana, sorry to interrupt your chat, but did you get a look at the intruder?"

"Hm?  Oh, no, I didn't, sorry.  I kinda burned him before I could get a good look."  She turned back to Gizo X.  "Now, the important thing to remember is that the portal isn't a hole, it's a gate.  You see..."

X listened intently as Lana talked him through the finer points of her portal spell.  Even as he did, a different part of his mind was running through everything he'd seen of her and how it all fit together.  One advantage of his artificial mind was the ability to focus equally on multiple things at once.  Unlike normal people, who merely switched back and forth between two tasks, X could genuinely multitask.  He was doing it now, and it was throwing out some quite alarming conclusions.  Lana was dangerous, but that was obvious.  What was more alarming was that she seemed unaware of exactly how dangerous she was.  He'd have to be careful not to compromise her emotional stability, or the consequences would be dire.  This was going to be tricky.

[I'm back! And look at all the fun things! Evil Oliolli showed up again, Wierd has wisely removed the launch key, Lana gets more threatening, and people abandon brackets in favor of spoilers. Hoo boy!

Drawing? If anyone's seen the Deebus thread, those pictures are me being lazy. If I could get a machine to myself for long enough, I could do a decent drawing. Admittedly this will not be likely. As such, I'm trying to find the post where I got transformed. Forgot what color I'm supposed to be. As for my unfortunately defunct original form, people often describe me as looking like some kind of scary Russian, though perhaps this is just because I wear a greatcoat everywhere. Pointy, angular face (sans apparent cheekbones), hazel eyes, dark hair, and tall, wide-shouldered frame (6-foot-five).

Well, first order of business, I should probably sort out MrHappyFace, who is currently in a very, very bad place. Later, though. For now, I'll work on the Tropes page.]

I think it happened way back when I was fighting Nicol Bolas.  From what I recall, I didn't specifically label what kind of dragon you were, but it is all that has been described about your form is that your scale color is red, and you are roughly the size of a grizzly bear.  Due to having wings, and the ability to breathe fire, I would say you are a European dragon.  See spoiler for an example image.
