They will remain like that for a long time, unless cured or killed, either of which would be permanent. We could just exterminate them all right now, but I think that would be a last resort. We'd have to somehow find out about the cure-guns. Then again, if such guns existed, I'm pretty sure that Zanzetkuken would have told me about them when we met on the slashdriver. Of course, I could have forgotten given what happened to me since then, but then again I'm sure I would have mentioned it when I got back. Best solution is for Z to bring some with him when he returns.

@Gizogin: Interesting.. I went over to a friend's home for a little longer than 3 hours.

[The only reason I thought it was odd is that it was during what is normally the peak time for this thread.

Until the whole situation with the circle of infected is resolved, there's not much I can do.]

Ah well, was hoping for another post from Corai over the night, but in order to get the thread going again, I'll post the ending of the fiasco.

The Zanzetkukens clashed on the mountaintop for what seemed like years.  The dark Zanzetkuken was slowly, incrementally gaining the upperhand.  The normal one realized this as they locked blades, again.  He (regular) could see no way out where he would secure victory.  He clashed with his dark self a few more times before they broke off, and he saw what needed to be done.  He moved forward, seemingly going to lock blades with his dark self, but instead, he sheathed his sword, dodged under the dark blade, grabbed onto the Dark Zanzetkuken, and threw them both off the mountain.  After the shock wore off, the Dark Zanzetkuken tried to save himself, but Zanzetkuken (regular) stabbed him (dark) with his blade.  They had reached the mountain falls at that point and fell towards the multitude of rocks made of sharp obsidian when the Dark Zanzetkuken finally died of the wound inflicted by the blade.  Zanzetkuken mentally recorded a few messages on some blank crystals within the room of the Slashdiver where Hugo and Corai learned of the phyrexians, namely, a message to the general and his last will.  With that, a peace came over him as he fell into the rocks below.

The Dark Zanzetkuken had linked the evolved form of phyrexis to himself.  While it did make the strain far stronger, it also left a weakness.  If he died, the phyrexis died.  All across the multiverse, wherever the evolved strain was, the nanites died, returning their hosts to their pre-infected forms...

Soon after the battle for the citadel, the general walked into the information room*, attempting to find out why the battle had ended with the phyrexis dying, when he saw that a crystal was already in the pedestal in the center of the room.  He viewed the message that was left for him, then went up to the bridge, and said, "Plot a course for the twelfth bay."
"Sir."

At the twelfth bay, the Slashdiver landed a short distance away, and a small delegation came out from it, intending to meet with the survivors, and bring whatever aid was needed.  Guards were placed at the entrance of the Slashdiver, and would only allow in whoever was allowed in by the delegation.

I appologize if you do not like the writing, because I just now came up with most of the details.  The souls of the worlds hint was scrapped from this, when I couldn't think of a way to incorporate them at the time of writing.

Note: the scenery was there to allow an easier access to the mana type it embodied

*will be changed.

Oliolli looked up at the ceiling, through the hole and up at the sky.
So...
So.
Any ideas for how to reach the hole in the ceiling of a dome?
Not like we haven't done so before... Just do the same as last time.
Except this time we have no zombie buzzardbear in the ruins with us, do we? Also, need I remind you of our serious lack of puzzle boxes this time around?
...so. Other ideas?
One. I don't like this idea, however. But as there don't seem to be any other ways, we have no choice.
Wait... please tell me you're not going to-
Yeah. I am.
...if anyone asks how we got out of here, I swear to Armok I'm going to punch them in the face...

I know.  This is the last you will hear of them.

["Kill them"]

Why not hear them out?  They currently have the firepower to kill everyone here if you destroy their delegation.  In fact, they would open fire IMMEDIATELY.

Just so you know, I won't be able to post until 7-8pm depending on how long a church fundraiser lasts.
I appologize for the delay, but it was already set for this day and that time.

[That is the most unfair plot device ever devised. I want to know! :P]

The clouds overhead were finally beginning to clear, it seemed.

Oh, wait. No they weren't. Some jackass just flew right through the storm clouds, such that the moonlight tricked Eric into holding up hope that the shenanigans were finally over. The storm was picking up again; the wind was blowing harder, thunder roaring overhead, and the eels were beginning to whip through the air, as if alive and swimming through the torrential downpour. He had been completely lost in the dark, with nothing but an undead chipmunk to fend off evil spirits, but the light that shown through the clouds revealed that he was near the elves' tower. Keeping his sense of direction, he approached. When he knocked on the door, the elves greeted him with full armament.

"What do you want, dwarf?" A freak covered in patchy fur and bear claws demanded.

"Not a crossbow bolt. I was just wondering if I might be able to stay here for the duration of the storm. I think everyone else is dead, so..."

"Acceptable."

Eric entered the room. The elves were using one of Thari's plant as sconces. They produced nearly the amount of light a candle would, from a light bulb shaped... bulb... on the top that had a clear, waxy rind, and bright, glowing spheres floating inside. The bulb adorned a tall black stalk, leading to a base of thick fern-like leaves. The elves on the other hand didn't appear to be in such a bright mood.

[Your call on what else is up with the bloody heathen elves, Hugo. Or whoever. I'm not in the mood for writing much lately.]

["Kill them"]

[I was joking about the inner rage of the mysterious forces that want them gone.]

Gizo X looked up at this new development.  A vessel of some kind had just plowed through the storm clouds, and figures were climbing out of it.  He couldn't make out any details at this distance, but they appeared to be heavily armed.  He glanced around again at the circle of dwarves who had been in various states of corruption, now apparently back to normal.  He sighed.  It's just one thing after another, isn't it? he thought.

He ran through an assessment of the situation.  Gizogin was out cold, waylaid by the complete shock of everything going on.  Wierd and Hugo were standing just a ways off, at the center of the circle.  Whatever wierd had done, the infected dwarves looked to be out of the picture for now.  They were just sort of milling about aimlessly, in a state of confusion.  This suddenly appearing ship was a bit odd, and he didn't know if it was dangerous or not.  His Core reserves were almost completely drained, and his reactor charge wasn't much better.  Even if the ship was a threat, he wouldn't be able to do anything in this state.  Until he knew it was safe, though, he couldn't risk going into standby to build up some more power.  He could try to rig up a charge-point from the reactor in the tank, but unless he did it perfectly, he risked massive damage to both him and it.

His mind still trying to work out a solution, he and wierd lifted Gizogin and put him in the back of the tank.  X turned to the necromancer and said, "What do you know of this ship?  Is it a threat?"

"I know no more about this than you do, I imagine."  Wierd sounded different, somehow.  More sure of himself perhaps; more calm.  He looked different as well; X had noticed that immediately.  Everything about him was just a little bit... off.

"I am in no state to deal with this, if there are to be hostilities.  Are you and Hugo able to handle the situation?"

"Yes, I should think so."  There was no hint of arrogance in his voice.  Power gently pulsed around him, though Gizo X could not feel it.

"Then I shall rest.  Do not try to disturb me for the next ten hours.  Gizogin, however, should be awake for this.  He will need time to process what has just happened, this I do not doubt, but that will have to wait."  Without waiting for a response, X hopped into the back of the tank.  He crawled up to the wall separating the cargo bay from the reactor, then curled into a ball and shut down.

[Had to make an edit to fix an error ZTG pointed out.  Gizo X doesn't know about all the stuff Zanz is up to, so he assumes that wierd fixed all the dwarves.  I'm sure someone will correct him later.]

[just a note: goodie-mancer me doesnt speak in thee's and thou's. He's still got his colloquialisms. he's just more calm, reserved, and benign... ]

[as for the type of 'silver' hair I was thinking he should retain, I dont mean "anime white". Imagine typical dark brown hair, with fine silver dust combed through it. Indoors it should look pretty normal. Outdoors, especially at night, it should be iridescent.]

[the closest I can find for the color is too extreme on the silver, and is a female model, but meh. Something more like this though, and less "anime".]
