[Well, I'm going to have to sign off again for a few days.  This'll likely be my last post until next Tuesday.  If anyone wants to interact with the Gizogins, they'll have to handle both sides of the conversations and whatnot.]

Gizo X stepped aside to let Hugo in.  "In you come.  Make yourself at home.  You know the drill, just keep the noise to a minimum and don't step on anyone."  He gave a few instructions to the G-Bodies, checked out the few miners who had been trapped since the alarm had gone off, and once again retired to his workshop.  He didn't have much left to do on the second, superior G-Core, and then he'd be able to move on to the next step.

*taps temple thoughtfully*

I don't seem to recall your being appointed hammerer...

But, for the sake of argument... was this before or after your most recent respawn? It was my understanding the noble positions were cleared of occupancy when the noble died, regardless of later reincarnations... so, is that hammerer card... you know.... truly legit?

;)

[I didn't know we even HAD a hammerer position. I'd figure we'd do better than the average dwarf and have a suitable jail and behead the condemned. I suppose Corai would be a suitable hammerer because he'd immediately become attached to an adamantine warhammer, which would be like a squeaky toy, which would be adorable.]

The dwarves were beginning to return to their regular lives, consisting mainly of hard labor, drinking, and eating. The dormitories no longer needed expansion with 50-odd dwarves having died recently, and the number of married couples and children being enough to bring the necessary number of rooms well below the 120 they currently had. There were other tasks the mining team had to attend to whilst the curtain wall was completed. The panic bunker needed expansion with a farm and workshop area, and a stone stockpile. They needed a huge amount of ore to power the arms industry. But Eric had to go feed the centipedes before they all died. Damn creepy-ass arthropods.

True, but I know for a fact that if joykill ended up condemned on trumped up charges, corai would bend over backwards to find a way to make a candyfloss warhammer somehow be lethal.

Weird didn't care how the gods damned wall managed to $#@^ EAT the damned pillowcase. He just wanted the &^%#-ing pillow!

Angrily, he pulled on the pillowcase as hard as he could.

The wall moved slightly, and a barely audible "click" came from inside it.

A section of the wall, cleverly concealed, stood out in faint releif against the rest of the wall; the bed neatly pushed up against it.

Hopping up on the bed, and gently pushing on the wall, it slid freely, pushed in quite deeply, then retracted sideways behind the rest of the wall towards the right revealing a door-like opening leading into blackness.

"Fucking typical." He growled. Typical that zanz would play freaking batman, and put a secret door in his room. 'Probably for sneaking out on clandestine trysts with firebreathing dragons.' He thought to himself wryly.

He didn't feel like exploring whatever perverted kinky secrets that zanz had deemed necessary to hide so intently, and just wanted some pillows.  Giving the retracted wall a shove in the direction it had slid, it clicked again, then slid back into place, this time catching a corner of the bedsheet instead of the pillowcase.  Whatever. It didn't matter. He *would* enjoy telling eric about this later though.  Right now, he just wanted some damned sleep.  Grabbing up all 4 pillows, he hurried out the door and to his room before the rest of the fortress population showed up asking stupid questions about the pillows he was carrying.

'No questions! Just sleep!' He muttered inaudibly. His mind started going strange directions when he didn't sleep right, and he hated the feeling.

Slipping back in his room, he slid the privacy bolt down, and secured the door. NO INTERRUPTIONS! He had a dinner date with the sandman, and all other appointments could fuck off.

Quickly, and without interruption he threw the stolen pillows onto the bed, threw himself on top of them, and was soundly unconcious mere moments later.
