So how exactly is Oliolli's reconstruction coming?

However you want it to be.  Gizogin and Gizogin X could easily have taken turns listening to Cog and treating the patients in the hospital.

[Anyone who does Science around here can claim responsibility for this]

HugoLuman stirred on the extra-large patients' mat in the hospital. He had no idea how long he had been out, but it must have been quite some time, seeing as most of the other patients were asleep, indicating night time. He stretched, and found that his whole body was sore. An effect of the tranquilizer, no doubt. Must have been some strong stuff. His mouth felt particularly sore, though, if not entirely raw, and in feeling with his tongue he discovered that one of his teeth was gone.

It would seemed like it might have been knocked loose when he fell over, had it not been for the slight pain behind his left foreleg. Looking at his chest, he found a very discreet bandage near the left shoulder. Someone had taken a blood sample.

[Dear god, I have two little kittens sitting about a meter away from me just STARING at me with their beady little eyes. It's positively unnerving, no matter how adorable they are.]

Eric suddenly bolted awake, and exclaimed "Oh hey, it's Hugo! Where'd'ya go? We nearly got slaughtered. Beyond decimated, even. Quarter of the population dead. Think I'll stay here in bed for a few months, wait out the tantrum spiral, y'know? So anyway if anyone asks why I'm still here just claim I insulted you and you used some magic or other on me and I need further attention to guarantee I don't die. Just don't claim I lost any limb function; I wanna keep my dexterity and luck with the women rather than deal with one of Gizogin's replacements. Kaythanksbye!" He immediately collapsed, unconscious, until Cog (the engineer/stoneworker) entered the room saying "Eric? We got the glassmakers to do double-time at the forges and managed to produce a tenth of the pump components we needed. Should we install them now? Still no power plant for the drive chain ready."

Eric bolted upright once again, "If you've cleared out the magma spill and set up the bridge and everything, go ahead. How's the water pumps going?"

"Done. Jerry had extra logs and carpenters work fast. But again, no power yet."

"Alright, I'll find a suitable location for a power plant sometime. Bring me something to write on and a copy of The Map."

Cog immediately ran out of the room, Eric grumbled and lay back down, "Never get a moment of rest, no matter how much rest I try to take."

50 casualties, so that would be the 20 or so converted into cyber soldiers and 30 of their victims right?

"Wha-?" I said, head still clouded by the tranquilizer.

Eric's voice woke Oliolli up. Instantly alert, he calmed down as he found that there was no danger. Turning to Eric, he said:
"Do you mind? We're trying to sleep."
COntent with getting no answer, Oliolli tried to get some more sleep, but couldn't. After half an hour of turning around he finally decided to get up. Gizogin hadn't given him permission to leave the hospital yet, but he didn't care. The arm and the leg seemed to work fine. So he grabbed his weapons and decided to go for a walk outside the fortress.

Jerry was up, happily cutting down what few trees remained in the vicinity of the fort. After a moment of talking Oliolli walked on, toward the closest area that still had some forest. Oliolli had always enjoyed walking in forests at night.

In the forest Oliolli found fresh tracks that he couldn't recognize to be anything else than that they were human. Quickly thinking through all the humans that had reason to be this close to the fort and sneaking around in a forest at night. Not recalling any such people, he decided to follow the tracks. After some winding around the tracks started leading towards the fortress, only to disapper into thin air at the edge of the forest. Looking up to see if there was anything in the trees, Oliolli noticed a glint of metal in one of them. As he approached the tree in question, something clad in dark cloth jumped down from it and raced off. Oliolli gave chase, now following the figure away form the fortress, deeper into the forest.

[Oh, come on!  It's not as though I ask a lot.  Just for people to stay in the hospital until I clear them to leave, and to follow my instructions for cleaning and care.  But no, everyone gets it into their heads that they know better than the best (and only) two doctors in this place. :P

No Cog story update for a while; they're very demanding of my creative energy.  Maybe later tonight.  He doesn't remember anything right now, anyway.

Gizogin and Gizo X are still in the hospital, treating the miners.  We've actually lost about five of them (Not my fault!  Radiation sickness isn't my area of expertise!  It was an honest mistake!), but the rest are recovering nicely.  We're also dealing with the other few patients.  Everyone's stable right now, as far as I know.]

Jerry was at the block, splitting firewood. He had cut down an estimated 300 or so trees now, entirely more than enough to see through the needs of the fort for quite some time. The trees had been mostly full-sized, giving a lot more than one measly arm-sized log each, so he had quite the pile in the storeroom near the entrance. Well, it had been good work, giving him much time for peaceful reflection, but now it was done for maybe a year or so. What to do now? Help out the fortress guard, maybe? Cut meat for the kitchens? He supposed that there was a lot of work for someone who was good at cutting, but he just couldn't think of much off the top of his head.

This will have to be reported, thought the figure running through the woods. There were signs that Thari was deceased. A sizable dwarven-looking settlement had sprung up near the tower. The body of the other scout had been found, though showed no signs of having been discovered by anyone else. He could hear footsteps behind him. Must not be discovered.

Apparently, you've been too wrapped up in your augmentation project until recently to notice that Jerry's been doing your job XD

Jerry stands back up and kicks you in the groin, saying "It's my only assigned labor. Deal with it!"

Jerry's more of the 'stare at you with a confused expression, then maybe kick you in the groin' type.

Here is a question for the forumites of the fort.  Due to the recent attack by augmented dwarves, does anyone trust MrHappyFace's augments anymore?  I sincerely doubt that any of the regular dwarves like the idea of augments now, and I doubt you could change their mind by just saying they were under control of Clockwork, a being that they could not be able to contemplate, no matter how hard you try to explain.
