Splint did his best considering he only had a copper pike. Dodging through the general catastrophe was bad enough, but having to skewer a cyborg through the head and wrap his seedbag around another's while he smashed its head in with abrick made it even worse. He finally managed to reach the food stores, grabbing an empty barrel and filling it with cans of cola and food, while stuffing his seedbag with plump helmets and spawn. He basically charged through everyone in his way retreating back to his room, recieving a severe cut on one leg and a puncture wound in his shoulder.

He fiunally sat to rest when he squeezed back in and rebarricaded the door. He'd wait until someone he knew came knocking. Until then, time to bunker down.

[Okay, I'm back.  Only briefly, though.]

The X went to the new dining hall, to see what the miners had uncovered.  He stepped gingerly through the doorway, not knowing what to expect.  There, poking out from the as-yet-unfinished back wall, was the corner of something black.  Gizogin X couldn't make out any details in the low lighting, so he went over to investigate.  As he approached the object, his internal Geiger counter began to react.  By the time he reached the far end of the room, it was freaking out.  Whatever this object was, it was putting out some high levels of radiation.

"That might explain the dwarves' sickness," thought the X.  "It's some weird radiation, though.  Nothing like what I've seen before."

Apprehensively, Gizo X gave the mysterious black object a flick.  It let out a surprisingly loud chime, and the wall around it collapsed.  Now that it was free of the wall (the hole was very large, and it was going to completely mess up the flow of the room, but no matter), Gizogin X could take a better look at the object.  It appeared to be a perfect cube, jet black, three feet to a side, and engraved with strange symbols and diagrams.

"Ironblood, you take care of...whoever you can. Im gonna go get a friend." Corai said, reloading his uzi as he went down into the chaos.

"Okay, zombie kobolds, magical things... THESE DAMN ROBOTS." he said, managing a headshot thru the eye, killing a cyborg. "I cant tell wheres where! How am I gonna find Splint in this chaos?" he said.

[Is it an artifact jet masonry block from Roead's civilization, enchanted with the secrets of poisoning everyone within 50 feet of you? :D

Because that's a secret's we'd all prefer were never learned by anyone...]

It wasn't going to be, but now I'm intrigued.  I still need to think about where I'm actually going with this, and I need to get to sleep soon anyway, so I won't be able to continue until tomorrow.

Roead's civilisation as in the one he was entombed within, or the one it hails from?

I would guess "heralds from".  The one that burried him, was so poor that they used *stolen* toilet paper to wrap his body instead of linen.

Barring an obscene cosmic joke, I don't see them having the resources for such a thing.

[The one he hails from, I guess... An artifact-quality object, of course! Made by a mad mason from a single boulder of jet! I don't really know...]

Eric's beard sense was tingling in defense of his OCD. SOMEONE had just permanently screwed up the aesthetics of a room he'd drawn the blueprints for with no good reason. Someone was going to pay for this.

Or maybe it was the fact that cyborgs were threatening to do horrible things to his people, becuase even his beard-fu wasn't quite strong enough to sense what was going on over 300 yards away, deep underground. Either way, he was enraged, and swinging his pickaxe wildly at a cyborg, who was blocking the most damaging blows, but slowly losing functionality. Corai had managed to kill one with his tiny uzi, and Vemini and ironblood were handling the other remaining cyborg as SPHM aided Eric. This had been a very bad day, and if there was one thing Eric wasn't known for, it was successful anger management.

Corai ran wilidly, like a duck from a hunter, all througout the fortress trying to find the dorms, eventully he ran into the old fortress area, where a single kobold was eating a dog tallow stew.

"Thats adorable." He said, knocking on Splint's door.

Splint peeked the door open and saw a panicky kobold ina bloody suit with an SMG. "Ah Corai! Get in!" He shouted, opening the door enough to pull him into the room. "Jesus man, what the hell is this mess!?" Splint asked, grabbing a can out of the barrel he grabbed.

'Not a clue. I've bunkered down in here until everything cools off. Got enough seeds and whatnot to survive here for a while if I need to." he popped the top of his dwarfcola "I'm damn glad I left this floor as nice dirt now. Want a can? I got plenty." He said, fishing through the bundles of meat for another can.

"Why not?" he said, catching one.

"Well, I doubt that door will hold if they decide to come in." he said taking a sip. "You wont believe where I respawned awhile back, dont ask. Just dont. It was "meta" or something. I also killed a security squad in the dragon citadel."

"So your life?"

"Gizogin fixed my hands. Some kind of wierd shit he used to make those robot-cyborg-things of his he has assist him. And by meta, I assume you mean the real world. Because in case you forgot-" He stood up. "I'm not a dwarf. So what, did you run into the guy controlling you or some shit?"

He looked at the door, locked, barred, and having everyhting but his bed shoved against it. "Whoever made those things outside has pretty shoddy workmanship. Door's held fine so far. Anyway, was I in the ball park?"
